It's AleSmith for God's sake, it's gonna be good... Deep reddish pour, tight white head, light lacing. Hoppy assed red beer: abundance of citrus and light piney hops with a nice caramel malt presence, lightly fruity with some apples and pears, mostly yum. Tasty Big Red.

Pours a clear ruby red with a pale, slightly pinkish buff head. Malty, hoppy and slightly - is that strawberry? - aroma invites a taste. Hoppy flavor is almost like an IPA, but fairly malty and with a sweet and slightly tart strawberry underpinning. Smooth mouthfeel is fairly tingly.

Nice balance of Carmely sweet fruity malts, and a good dose of citrus and bitter hops. There's a little chocolate and hint of nuts on the nose and flavor as well. Easy drinking and complex.

Sampled on tap at Beer Revolution on 2/14/2012. This amber ale pours a slightly hazy medium brown color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity, hoppy and sweet. A medium bodied amber. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and earthy, Medium carbonation. I am a little disappointed with this beer. The malts are hops in this beer are a mess, they are not mixing well at all. Wonder if it was a bad keg, I don’t think it was a bad tap line but there is something way off with this beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours with a deep blood red body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet and malty with notes of caramel and a nice citrusy hop note that adds a great bitterness. Medium bodied and smooth. I had both the cask and the draft versions. Both were great but the cask was a little young and seemed a little weaker in both aroma and flavor.
