Translucent orange with a faint ring of foam. Strong caramel aroma, a little floral but not much in the hops department. Flavor is not quite as sweet as it smells: the primary flavors are toasted bread and char with a sweetness that arises as it warms. I was expecting a hoppier beer, but this one's all about roasted malt. Decent body, mild carbonation.

Poured out a clear burgundy beer - really a great colour here, thick, never ending dark tan head and ample lacing. The aroma is interesting: lanolin, more fake grapefruit hops, nectarine, sour yeast - the majority of the aroma is citrusy, odd dark burnt sugar. Bitter taste. Dirt. Deep roasted malts, very bitter.. the dirt is the only thing wrong.... sigh. Light medium bodied, ok creamy mouth feel, very long and good bitterness. The amarillo hops saved this beer.

Beautiful looking deep rich red beer with a thick creamy cap. Smells like hand cream, but not in a horrid way. I mean this really really smells like hand cream. Sweet metallic taste with some watered down roasted to burnt malts and finishes with a hoppy bitterness. Burnt sugar is starting to dominate the taste and it seems all theses 961 brews have the same dirt taste to them. Not a bad beer considering where it’s from it be way better than I expected but is still nowhere near a good beer.
