This is the typical amber. Goldish/amber color, with a light caramel sweet taste...semi-bitter aftertaste. My buddy from Tampa brings it camping so we drink it as a "warm-up" daytime beer. Kind of light, not much alcohol. Not bad for a Florida beer, but doesn't really compare with the premium microbrews out there.

I'm trying to use lagers as the reference, thus, I think the higher marks. But this lager is a good representative from Florida. More translucence in the orange body. Decent lasting foamy head. Decent complexity in aroma with fruty maly and hint of hops. It seves as the benchmark for me now of Amber Lagers.

Pours a clear orange colour with a thin white malty head. Aromas of apricots and tea. A little yeasty, with a very full mouthfeel. Flavors of bread, cloves and a hint of ginger. Initial taste is light but slowly evolves into a rich bread like taste. Finishes very clean and refreshing. A great autumn beer after a long day of yardwork.

The aroma is sweet and malty with some caramel and sugar with notes of vienna malt and slight grain but a bit thin. The appearance is typical to the style but a bit of a lighter orange-yellow with a nice and creamy head on top that is off-white in color and full of carbonation and only diminishes slightly. The mouthfeel very light-bodied for the style with some mild malty complexity as well as balance with a palate that is clean and wet-like. The flavor is of sweet malt, caramel, grain, and some slight grassy notes in the aftertaste with a finish that is crisp and clean and wet-like and pretty refreshing. Overall, subpar amber lager here in my opinion and is quite boring and run-of-the-mill, decent stuff here but a let down as well as watery and weak.

Bottle best by 2/04 (March 7, 2004). Big, creamy, thick, light khaki head. Yellowish caramel, lightly visible carbonation. Aroma of fresh grains, melon, grits with honey. Taste is all malt in front, bready, bland but sweet. Dry, Czech-like finish is crisp and abrupt, but not too bitter. Slight mineral bite. This is the best Florida beer I've tried so far.

Medium gold color, small head that fades very quickly. A middle of the road lager. Lighter tasting. Mild malts and hops, but well balanced. Has some flavor to it, but nothing special with this beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Really bitter with a somewhat nasty aftertaste. Not worth trying unless you're visiting Tampa and are looking for a bit of kitsch.
