A classic West coast amber ale named after Brewmaster Bob’s second son. Deceiving, as the hop aroma leads you to believe your palate will be assaulted. But, only 13% of the hops are added in more than 13% of the boil time; yielding a beer intense in hop aroma and flavor, with only a faint bitterness and nice light chocolate and caramel malt backbone lingering.

Gotta love the homage. This one comes out of the tap a dark, reddish amber bordering on mahogany with a thick, fine-bubbled, light tan head. Strong, malty aroma has an overtone of clove and earthy and woody hints. Scrumptious, delightful flavor is more complex than most ales I have sampled - malty and slightly woody core supports clove, hoppy, nutty and earthy tones. This is an ale to be sipped and savored for its own sake, not chugged during a game! Firm texture is quite lively with a fairly sturdy fizz, leaving sweet malty, earthy and hoppy touches. One of the best ales I have ever enjoyed, maybe even the best!
