You asked for it, so we're brewing it. Wolaver's first dark beer, this oatmeal stout is black in color, with a beautifully creamy head. This full flavored stout imparts hints of coffee, chocolate, and roasted flavors. It is being brewed with organic rolled oats, organic wheat, and of course organic barley and hops. Our Oatmeal Stout will be available October through April.

Pours a dark chocolaty brown with a fairly thick tan head. Aroma is strong, rich, malty, with an overtone of fine roast coffee. Lively, malty flavor has nutty and smoky hints and an undertone of fine coffee. Texture is smooth and tingly, a little thick, leaving a sassy finish.

one of the more full-flavored organic dark beers I've ever had. Wasn't expecting much, so when the aroma & taste pretty much matched the brewer's description (see above, eh) I was pleasantly surprised.

This came in a "Winter Brews" box from World Market. Pours brown with a nice tan head with some nice lacing. Smells and tastes of coffee and roasted malt. Bitter coffee finish. Fairly thin for a stout. Not bad, but after drinking mainly top shelf stouts for the last few months, it's a slightly above average at best.

Pours a deep dark chocolate brown body with moderate head that dissipates rather quickly. Leaves behind a scattered pattern of lacing. Plenty of cookie aroma and oatmeal, starts sweet and ends with a very soft hop finish. tastey beer.

Decent caliber oatmeal stout. Pretty smooth. Definite roasted malt, coffee flavor. Some bitterness, carbonation is definitely present. Nice stout. Doesn't compare to the top oatmeal's, but not a bad second tier one.

Thanks Tim! Dark brown appearance with a very thin head that rests on the edges of the glass. Taste is not as robust as I would likew, but there are some coffee and roasted malt flavours. Aromas are chocolate, coffee and a slight smokey aroma? Strange.

The Wolaver's is an all organic product if that makes a difference to you. I was worried that this might affect the taste, but it doesn't. The pour is black, with an tan head. The aroma is of sweet malt and roasted malt. The flavors are the same. Very nice mouthfeel and very smooth flavor. I really like the sweetness of this one--not overpowering at all, but definitely there. Nothing is out of balance in this brew. I was pleasantly suprised at this beer, and won't mind having another one again soon. Reminded me most of De Dolle Special Extra Export Stout.

Dark black color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and roasty and sweet. Brew 12/20/04 Batch 1663. A medium bodied sweet stout. Malts are chocolate, roasty and sweet. Slightly spicy hops. Fairly smooth tasting. Nice balance. There is a touch of harshness that melds with the roastiness. Seems a little thin for an oatmeal stout, but it does have some chunkiness to the mouthfeel. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Absolutly fantastic looking oatmeal stout to look at ..dark brown with garnet accents when held to the light..nice half inch sized creamy tan head..shrinks but never quite dissapears. This is one of the better smell oatmeals I have had....lovelly chocolate malts..toasted oats fresh, nice stuff. Nice taste very smooth and creamy chocolate to start..then I get a thick oat tase..like Scottish porridge, for a sec..then its on to a long lasting but pleasant bitterness.. Very nice and creamy on the tongue..well made..not thin. A very nice example of an oatmeal stout..and so very drinkable.

Dark brown with tan head. Decent oatmeal stout, though it doesn't compare to Sam Smith's. Plenty of roasted malts, chocolate, and oatmeal. Overall it was pretty good.
