This velvety ale is brewed from a duo of Belgian and American dark-roasted malts. When poured, its deep garnet color is crowned with a creamy tan head.

A below average porter from a brewer I am pretty much done with, they don't make a good product. Thin, light and watery with sour notes. Smells like nothing, but tastes bad.

I smell bacon and coffee, beans?. Light like water. In fact, I'd think this beer is kind of plain. But I don't think it's been made to tickle your fancy taste buds and pleasure your palate with treasures of complex finer things. This is a Wisconsin Porter, made for drinking and not complaining about it. So it tastes like water and it gets you tipping after some sipping.

Yet another bottle shared by Bockyhorsey, I do believe. The pour was standard for the style, although a larger than average head (but that could have been because I let my 2 yr old pour this one, she gets kicks out of doing that for me). In any event, pretty standard choco caramel aromas and flavors, malt emphasized. Mouthfeel was moderate in body, slightly acidic. An ok attempt at a style that isn't that special. Much thanks to Bill for this one!

Sampled on draught and in bottle: Pours a dark brown colour with a small tan head. Semi sweet, hints of chocolate, nuts and other sweet smelling stuff, decent overall.

"Another dark beer that I didnt like.........If its a stout, dopplebock, porter, or a brown ale, I am not going to like it. Sorry to those out there who like dark beer."

Dark brown with a deep rosy-brown hue and a rich, foamy tan head. The nose of this medium-bodied porter is rich and malty, but the mouthfeel is a little thin. The initial flavor is one of roasted chocolaty malt with a subsequent smooth, lightly bitter but bright finish. Good-drinking, but not the robust porter of my dreams...

Good porter from a great brewer. Good scents, and great flavor. Could've used a better feeling and a better coloring. I don't like many really dark beers, but this is a good one.
