Take your taste buds on a journey to the far side of the world. New Zealand’s legendary Nelson Sauvin hop gives us a powerful hoppy character, but none of the heaviness you sometimes find in Imperial IPAs. The result is a big brew with a sweet, malty character that perfectly balances the intense hop aroma and flavor.

From Haggen (Burlington, WA) in a bomber. "Hopped to perfection" says the label. We'll see. Rocky white head which imeediately started to produce lacing, along with a clear, medium copper pour. Aroma began with a mild hoppiness, along with pine resin. The high ABV (8.6%) is in your face immediately, along with hops, pine, and a tinge of grapefruit. Smooth mouthfeel. Finish was alcohol and a sweet note. Pretty good, and at $5 a bomber, a decent price for a DIPA.

Pours a nice orange-copper color,no foam to speak of.Great Aroma,Flavor was outstanding.Picked up a little bit of pine, and sweetness from the malts. Was nicely balanced, and not too over powering for a double IPA.I like the Nelson Sauvin hops, my bottle was almost a year old.I would bet this brew ages well.

I picked this beer up from Honeygo Wine & Spirits in White Marsh, MD on Thanksgiving (2011). I had this beer with some turkey on Thanksgiving and it worked quite nicely. It is a big hoppy and resinous beer. I really enjoyed this one.

A murky orange- colored beer with a big frothy textured, white head that has good staying power. Settles eventually into a thick ringlet. Citrus hops on the nose. Nice blending of citrus hops and a light touch of sweet bready malt. Full bodied and smooth. Great beer.

Thrown in by Chris on our recent trade. Bottle had a date of September, and I forget if that was bottled on or best by....either way this one seemed fairly faded by the time I cracked it. Very malty and sweet with some citrus hops present. Still drank fairly decent considering the hops were not in full effect, just didn't resemble much of an IPA. Regardless it was still refreshing.

Comes out of the tap a hazy, dark honey-like golden with a creamy, pale yellow head. There was not much foam, but this was apparently an artifact of the pour. Aroma is strong and mainly evergreen with a hint of grapefruit. Flavor is seriously hoppy, mainly evergreen with hints of resin and sour citrus and minimal bitterness. Edgy, fizzy texture leaves behind a persistent tingle.

Pours orange-copper with a hint of haze and nice head - nice lacing throughout. Very piney and citrusly aroma but lack a bit of that in the flavor department. A little thin in the mouth, but finishes well.

two Deadlifts on the site - this one has the full name, but the abv is too high (8.6 on the bottle). i was looking forward to this one, but it finished near the bottom at a recent hoppy tasting, even below some pale ales. bitter hops but not very floral. a little piney as well, but malt dominated. not what i look for in a dbl ipa. brrr is better. repackaged 22 as Nelson - fresher, better. average 3.2 & 3.8.

12oz bottle 4 pack -
Aroma - really beautiful aroma of bright grapefruit, lemon zest, light alcohol, soft caramel and Thompson grapes.
Appearance - clear, cream soda colored beer, off white 2-3" head, no lacing and scan lacing.
Taste - phenomenal flavor, with fresh citrus juice and tropical fruits booming throughout. Grapefruit, lemon, and pineapples really resounds during the duration of the beer. Sweeter than I normally like in my IIPA’s but it wasn’t overly sweet for me.
Overall - how can you beat a 4-pack for $6.99 of this beer? Completely suprised, totally happy and couldn’t recommend this one enough.
