This is a celebration of our fifteenth year making craft beer and it stands as an example of the bold flavorful beers that we have come to make. This is not a timid ale; it’s an intense, full-bodied smoke experience. Fifteen has a rich flavor profile balancing notes of dark roast, burnt toast, and spicy rye with a deep earthy aroma of smoke and wood. This beer should age nicely and be a smoky treasure for many years. Recipe by Chris Wilson, Head Brewer and Dan Hitchcock, Brewer.

A masterpiece of deep smoked and rich roasted malts working in unison. Brilliant opaque brown/near black body with a large frothy brown head and very good lacing. Chewy and thick with a rounded out smoothness, that gets better with age. Worthy of an anniversary release, I hope to see it return in the future.

When I spotted this one in the box Cory sent me, it immediately piqued my interest. Smoke beers are amongst my favs and, well...impy stouts are too. So kinda geeked to have this one and it didn’t disappoint. Aroma starts out with a smoked ham when cold, warms up to campfire, coffee, scorched sugar and just a tad of black licorice. Flavor was equally nice, with the sweetness kept well in check and so was the ash character that I generally despise. Bitter coffee and smoke was king here. Lite dark chocolate notes too, but this one is all about the smoke and coffee. Appearance was deep black, coating my glass with sparkling foam. Head retention and density was a little lacking, but being nitpicky. All in all, a really nice beer.
