Like many wheat beers, has a honey color to it and is a bit cloudy. It has a sharper but lighter aroma than other wheats.

I tried this beer on May 31, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen's Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy orange colour with a generous bubbly head. The aroma was mild wheat, some hops, and some spiciness with a malty feel. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, slippery, with a lot of carbonation. The flavour was sweet and spicy with wheaty, malty, and soime fruit tones in the mix.

Typical Hefe nose with the esters is just a little bit more on the mild side. More clove and spice than banana which I think I'm going to like. I didn't have a proper hefe glass but the poor has the head that won't expects frothy and white the lovely clear gold body tending towards the Amber side. Mouth is foamy medium to light bodied proper tingle. Flavor is following the nose. Light on the banana somewhat heavy on the clove hints of cardamom wheat malt is there but barely. Reminds me an awful lot of what I drink in the pubs in Switzerland. So I'm probably going to kick it up a little for sentimentality sake.

This is the flagship beer for the world’s oldest brewery and it easily tells the story why the brewery is going strong today. This is one of the prototypical hefeweizens, a hazy light gold beer that pours with a very generous white head. Lots of wheat and spices in the aroma as well as the characteristic banana and bubble gum hints. The flavour is on the sweeter side of the Hefeweizen spectrum and I wouldn’t want it any other way

Quite simply, the best Weizen out there. All the flavours mash together perfectly: Wheat, banana, toffee, butterscotch, .... A little sweetness to make it pleasing to the palate, but a smooth dryness which makes it anything but sickly. Refreshing, subtle, but flavourful. Love it!

Enjoyed this at Mommseneck, in Berlin. A high-quality German hefe. Generous helpings of good things in the aroma, including cloves and citrus. Clear golden pour, average head. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavour echoed the aroma.

Pours out cloudy gold with a massive white head. The aroma is of wheat with a hint of banana. The mouthfeel is very smooth and rich. The taste is all Belgiam style and really good.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with some of the biggest bubbles I have ever seen because of the carbonation. 3 finger white head that lofts a while. Aroma is lemony and of cloves. Taste is of cloves and dry grains. All in all a good hefe.

Hazy yellow pour with a fluffy white head with good retention and lacing. Citrus and spice aroma. Flavour is lemon, banana and spices. I can see why this ranks so highly

A cloudy golden yellow color with thick snow white foam head. Good Weiß taste, bit fruit, lots of yeast. Very good long aftertaste, I like this beer from the oldest brewery in the world. Thirst quencing (Velp 201204)
