Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6
A crystal clear medium golden colour, with one finger of soapy, creamy off-white head, which renders a wall of pocked painted lace around the glass. It smells of bready cracker malt, a bit of yeast, and mild, earthy hops. The taste is warm bready, grainy malt, mild yeast, earthy hops, and some metallic alcohol. The carbonation is moderate, and not quite smooth. It finishes warm and grainy, some weak earthy hops fishing about.

Pours a watery copper color with light off-white layer instead of a head and leaves minimal lacing. The armoa is light with wweet and malty and is toasty and a tiny noble hop scent. The taste is more intense than the aroma, crisp and slightly bitter. The mouthfeel is medium body with sharp carbonation and is lightly creamy on the tongue.

Comes out of the tap a clear dark golden amber with a fine-bubbled pale beige head. Aroma is malty, slightly fruity and slightly hoppy. Strong, malty flavor has undertones of apple and pear and a hint of hops. Smooth, fizzy, lively texture leaves behind a nice tingle.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 11.2oz bottle into my Spaten Oktoberfest stange glass. There is a "best before end" date of 09.JUN.10 and it was sampled on 10-23-09. Appearance: The body has a deep golden color with lots of nice carbonation and great clarity. A small bright white and loosely packed head sits on top but it quickly disappears and leaves no lacing behind. Smell: The nose has light malt with a touch of toasted biscuit and some nice floral/perfume like hops. Also noticeable is a hard mineral water note in the nose. Taste/Palate: The flavor has the same toasted biscuity malt and floral hops in the nose with mineral sweetness up front that quickly turns dry by the finish. The palate has a light to medium body with smooth yet active carbonation. Notes: This was a very basic but very drinkable Oktoberfest beer. I did enjoy it but I would have loved more head retention!!!

Second Marzen tried this evening. This one a yellow colored beer. I gotta say I prefer the amber color. A big soapy white is pushed to the top by a rush of bubbles. Settles fairly quickly into a light lacing. Caramel malt aroma. Light to moderate bodied beer. Not much smoothness. The taste is not very good. The skunkiness of corn is dominate. I’ll finish this one, but no more.

I wasn't to impressed with this one, other than the appearance. Nice big white head, with a typical amber to tan hue. Everything else was pretty disappointing. On the buds, Warsteiner Fest was kind of plain jane. And the scent was non appealing. I think mine may have been a little bit skunked. I am with the consensus. Not real impressive for and Okfest brew.

Let me start by stating that this is not an Oktoberfest beer. Right there, you lose 1 point. There is no marzen and no amber color. Other than that, this is a great beer. It's like Warsteiner ccranked it up a notch. Pours sparkling yellow with a thick long lassting head. Taste is very good without the touch of honey that accompanies the traditional warstiener. This is a crisp, clean beer. I really like it. Name it something else please but I'm still going to buy more.

S5L2F3T4O9 Waryfest: Looks and smells rather decent, nothing offensive in the bouquet. Perhaps the ol’ shnoz does detect some blast furnace slag down in there. Taste is initially a little tangy bitter then it milds out to a medicine like sweetness that grows on ya. Has much more personality than I was expecting for this beer. It certainly is not a lade-back beer by any means. Very good carbonation and bubbliness, which is welcome. Has a weird lager hop or malty bitterness that just keeps hangen around on the finish. Session was different for a change.

A dark golden apperance with a large soapy head. The aroma contains some lemons, corn and some strange cooked vegetable deal in there. The flavor contains some maltiness, cooked corn, lemons and more off flavors. Lots of diacetyl present in this beer. Beginning to end this beer sucks.
