Which is better, British or American ale? Realistically, this battle is one of microbes. An excellent ale was brewed, the batch was then split into two fermenters. This beer had an American ale yeast waiting ready. And so we have two different Pale Ales that were separated at birth, so to speak.

Like E, I drank this in comparison with the UK PA and this was the loser. However, I didn't think it was as drastically different an E. The most notable difference to me was in the body and finish. This was the more bland of the too. A little malty and a tad citrus in aroma. The mouthfeel and finish was boring, leaving only the memory of carbonation. I didn't think it was bad, though.

Poured a clear, deep gold color with a small, off white head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange / orange peel, yeast, and other musty, citrus fruits. Grapefruit hop bitterness, light sour lemon, light sweet maltiness, and a little bit of bubblegum as well. Lots of carbonation, led way to a harsh mouthfeel. Certainly the loser.
