Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This kellerbier pours a yellow gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal and grainy, a touch wheaty. A medium bodied zwickel style beer. The malts are cereal and grainy, slightly sweet. The hops are spicy. Lively carbonation. Nice balance. Kind of bitter with a very dry finish. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Had as Braumesiter Select Pils. The beer pours out a deathly pale yellow, small ivory white head. Aroma was celery salt, light herbal type hop. Flavor had some odd earthy/lemony thing going on. Clean finish. Fairly refreshing beer.

Both bottles shared by Bill Batten of Alesmith. "Select Pils" - Pours with a pale Golden Body topped by a thin, white head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet with a hayey hop note and a nice Malty balance. Light bodied and smooth. 7,3,7,3,14 "Tetanger Pils" - Pours with a pale golden body topped by a thin, white head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet yet bitter adn peppery from the hops. Light bodied, dry and a touch warming. 7,3,6,3,13

I had Victory Braumeister Pils on tap at the Grey Lodge. It poured a hazy golden colored body with a small white head. The taste was hoppy with a nice citrus flavor. This was a good Keller pils

4/1/2005 - Had this slow poured for me at the Victory brewpub. I'm not normally a pilsner guy, but this was fantastic. Thick creamy head, and very smooth (you gotta do the slow pour). Unfiltered beautiful golden color. Very smooth. The best of all the Victory brews I had. Re-review 2/22/2006 - On draft at the brewery. Apparantly, they have changed the hops in this brew since my last sampling. Also, I didn't have the "slow pour" this time and I have to knock my previous 4.4 down significantly. The new Saaz hops add a really funkyness to the brew that I wasn't crazy about (but did make it quite unique). The beer is also much less smooth (maybe due to non-slow pour). This beer has gone from great to average. Blah

I'm not a big pilsner fan because it is too light tasting for my tastes. But this is the best pilsner I have ever tasted, it must be the special hops they add.

Poured a hazy golden color with a small white head and very light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus hops, grass and lemon as well. Light lemony taste, some citrus hops, and lightly tart, very earthy finish. The only thing I did not like was the relatively strange earthy aftertaste, could have been a little fruitier. Light carbonation. A nice Keller pils, though I think I enjoy Sly Fox’s better.
