I have drank beer most of my adult life(and before..oops) and feel obliged to give these folks a big thumbs up. Upland IPA has become the beer I choose most in my beer-filled refrig at home..always full of various beerish incantations from far and wide. I live in Indianapolis which is about 40 miles north of Uplands, Bloominton,IN home, and never miss a chance when I am south to stop in and get a cold one from the tap. Aside from the IPA, I started out enjoying and drinking their wheat which is awesome as well, and a fine hot summer beer. Their Winter Warmer does just that and is great when the snow flies. Great food in the brewpub as well...maybe the best kept secret around here. Ok, the secrets out, hopefully there will be an open stool at the bar! Cheers pat

Pours slightly hazy amber with a decent buff head. Aroma is not strong, but has a nice come-hither resiny hoppy note. Hops are noticeably bolder in the flavor, pulling resin, citrus and malty tones in their wake for a decent if unremarkable IPA taste. Mouthfeel has decent body and fizz, leaving a hoppy if typical finish. A good party brew.

Meh, I got this beer from my awesome neighbors but I didn't love it. I don't know if it is the hops I didn't dig or what, but it tasted off to me. I can't put my finger on it. Neither hops, nor floral, nor citrus.

Pours a copper/clove honey dark gold with an impressive white head that foams and lingers but leaves no lace. The aroma is of hops, grapefruit, some spice, and clove. The taste is a nice step back from IPAs that come through too powerful. This has all the tastes, hops, sweet citrus/honey, and earthy clove and florals without the hop annihilation. The mouthfeel is crisp with decent carbonation. Good aftertaste, bitter, but not overly bitter.

Had this fly in my glass been their Pale Ale I'd a been a bit more generous. Assertive malt content followed by some pleasant hop notes. Falls right in line with the rest of the Upland sampler, safe and secure.

Bottle from Bockyhorsey, my midwest hookup by way of AZ travels! The pour was full amber to copper, ok initial head and lacing. The aroma was strong floral hops, some diacetyl notes and bread. The flavor was strong floral bitter hops, some caramel, citrus, bready elements, earthy/herbal hops in the background. Glad the diacetyl didn’t come out in the flavor. A decent IPA, and many thanks to you, Mr. Bill!

Got this bottle in a trade. Pours (into a standard pint glass) a cloudy golden amber with a one-finger head that settles to a quarter inch. Lacing is there all the way through but thinner. Nose is lemon, grapefruit, orange and brown sugar. Taste shows some interplay between hops and malt but the clear winner is sweetness. There is some lemon, orange, grapefruit sweet malt. Not a bitter finish nor terribly dry. Mouthfeel is medium and, while there is no carbonation visible, there is a nice edge from it nevertheless. I liked this and would love it on a hot summer day, despite the fact it seems to have gotten little love on this site.

This beer just doesn't bottle very well. I have had it fresh at the brewpub and it was very good. I have bought four different batches, none tasted right and two had gone bad in a big way. Hope Upland figures out the dragonfly bottling issues. Other Upland bottled beers have not had issues.

I love giving the first review after the last was a few years past. Cloudy copper with some noticeable sediment. Nose is weak, floral and lightly hopped but thats about it. Taste was just borning. It wasn't bad, it was a little subpar, but i could see drinking a handful of these in a sitting. Totally easy beginner IPA for non IPA drinkers.

Slightly hazed copper. The aroma is hoppy with a berry-like fruitiness. The flavor is malt centric up front. Mellow. Hop bitterness is a bit disappointing.
