Pours a murky orange colour. Aroma is sweet and lightly smoky. To taste this is oversweet, with not much smoke and some yeasty spice character you might expect in a Belgian beer, finishing in dry astringent bitterness. I didn’t really like it.

Pours an insane amount of frothy off-white head and has a dark amber appearance. Quite excessive carbonation. Aromas of barley malts, toasty malts, hints of caramel and Belgian yeast. Flavours are mainly dry type fruits, kinda like raisins and plums. Some strong Belgian yeast notes as well as earthy hops. Not quite as smokey as I was expecting. Good retention. Fizzy and drying mouthfeel. No bad but probably one of my least favourite from Unibroue.

Pours a brown color with a foamy white head. Aroma is fruity and malty, with hints of Belgian yeast (I don’t know if that was the yeast strain used, though). Flavor is sweet fruit and spice, which gives it a very slight Whiskey character. I don’t get any smoked flavor or aroma, so I’m surprised this is categorized as a Smoked beer. Still, this is pretty good.

The beer poured a hazy dark peach colour with a bubbly white cap. The aroma was smoked wood, dark fruits, caramel and some floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, slightly creamy, and medium carbonation. The flavour was smoked wood, weak malty tones, light fruit notes, and a tart finish. Not a lot of bitterness.

It pours a nice orange/amber color. It has no head but has a white ring around the glass that leaves some lacing. The aromas definitly give out hints spices, wheat, citrus and belgian yeast. Like the aromas, the taste has a nice spice presence (cloves, maybe coriander) with some wheat notes, citrus and yeast. It has a high carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel. It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas.

Too bad, an unusual fail for this brewery. Could be an effort to appeal to someone who finds their bigger malty belgians inaccessible, but well, oh well. Is it saison? Smells of watery caramel. Also of unibroue yeast. Head lasted a couple mm thick for the hours it sat ignored in my glass. Tastes slightly of tea. Watery, thin bodied, fleeting finish. A really boring beer with a yeast I don't love anymore.

Wow, surprised this is in the smoked ale category. Truly not smoky at all. Which is fine by me, I'm not a big smoked ale fan. Its a classic unibroue, without any frills. Standard cloudiness, trademark yeast. Nice, but forgettable. Tastes like a Scottish - Belgian fusion wheat beer. What?

to say the smoke is light would be an understatement. i don't know if i could tell it was there if A)i didn't know ahead of time, and B)wasn't looking for it. this is just an average belgian ale other than that...but I gotta dock it a little extra for claiming to be something it isn't.

Pours flat. No taste.Amber brown beer here. Mouthfeel is fuzzy. Taste is of old yeast and mold. I would name this beer "Grandma's dirty panties." OMG this crap sucks. MILF alert! LOL!

This is no more a smoked ale than I am. Poured a flat-headed clear, copper body with a slightly spiced nose. Hints of whisky - interesting!. Mouthfeel was so-so, flavour not bad, and maybe a sour note at the finish. Too reminiscent of this brewer's unpleasant Cassis Emphemere for my liking. Far from Unibroue's best.

Bottled. Very lively beer. Hazy murky reddish brown colour with big off/white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some syrup as well as quite grassy, flowery and fruity hops. Mild notes of smoke. Flavour is sweet malts, mild notes fruits, nectar, syrup and some wooden notes. The smokyness in this one is very close to non-existant. Instead this would be a very good Belgian Ale if you want to do it stylewise.
