Had this on my good friend Dales birthday on the shores of the Shuswap. Beautiful. No carbonation, everyone else has noticed that though I guess. Brown in colour, smells of cherries and slightly yeasty. Thin in body and flavour from what I was expecting, almost like a light white wine. Quite drinkable and remarkably simple yet addicting little nuances of yeast and maybe a winter spice (thanks beercronic). Awesome

Corked shared bottle at local tasting, bought at Ølbutikken (or was it Høkeren?), Copenhagen, may 2011. Sampled first cold, then hot. Auburn colour, no carbonation. Strong aroma of cherries, almonds, spices / spiced chutney and mulled wine. Sweet flavour, notes of cherries, spices and mulled wine. Better cold than hot. A pity there is no carbonation (bad idea).

Whoa Nellie...an extremely interesting brew (and that me be an understatement). Broken out at a recent tasting and served at room temperature. The other participants thought I was pulling their leg when I suggested warming up half the bottle, perhaps next time. Intriguing color, kind of spritzy and medium bodied. Spicy and fruity scents and an intense flavor with a long lingering aftertaste. This should be experienced by all at least once.

Rich aroma is strongly of black cherry and fairly sweet, but there is a hint of malt and of wood so you know this ain't no fruit juice. Pours a dark, semi-transparent mahogany with a minimal pale tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Flavor is mainly cherry and quite sweet and tangy, with a hint of malt and a bit of an alcohol nip. Texture is quite smooth yet a little fizzy and zingy, leaving a sweet and subtly alcoholic finish.

Bottled (thanks to whoever I got this fro.). Reddish amber colour, not much head. Aroma is semisour cherries witth some caramel and mild acidic notes. Flavvour is cherries, wood, some mild spices and some sweetih notes, I am actually lost for words on this thing. So much more I could describe, but enormously close to really love lambics....

I tried this beer a few different ways, and the best I thought was slightly warmed, which brought out the most in the cherry flavor. The beer poured out a beautiful ruby red color, clear with a flat scant white head. Aroma was very much like a cherry-wine. Big cherries in the aroma, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is pretty much the same way. Some syrupy cloyingness does appear, but it’s nothing to get too distraught over. Perfect time of year to drink this too.

This beer is meant to be served HOT, not warm, not lukewarm, but HOT. The bar that served me this, served it warm. The sour cherry hints were weak in both the aroma and the flavour. The flavour was very medicinal in nature and quite strong. The aroma also had some spicy notes in it.

this was a weird one. drank it both cold and hot (better cold). there's cherry in the aroma and flavo, even dominant, but theres a lot of sweet malt, sugars, and tons of dark fruit and spices in there as well. Definitely toeing the line between a cordial and a beer. Not what i was expecting, but quite unique and enjoyable. Possibly the oldest beer I've ever had. Sampled 5-7-09, bottled in 2002! you can tell this beer is different by the range in scores...1.4 all the way up to 4.7!

Pours out a pink to red color with zero head to speak of. Smells very fruity, not unlike a wine, but with a strong cherry note. Tastes very fruity, and is all malt and cherries.

Presentation: It was poured from a corked and caged 750ml bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a hazy, reddish brown colored body with almost no head at all. There were just a few small, light tan bubbles around the sides of the glass. Smell: The aroma is light with a modest tea like herbal hops and chopped up fresh cherries in the nose. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has a mix of sweet, sour and tangy fruits and spices that reminds me off mincemeat pie filling with a warming brandy flavor note. Hop flavor is mild and herbal. All these flavors mix and mingle nicely on the tongue within a smooth and slightly sticky full body. Notes: This beer has a very deep interesting flavor and a wonderful full body that made for a nice slow sipping after dinner treat.
