To meet the demand for a light colored but full flavored lager, Grand Lager is brewed in the Plisner style, at full strength, not watered down like domestic light beer. The use of Hllertau and Willamette hops compliments the Canadian 2-row malt. Grand Lager is enjoyed with lean meats, chicken (not fried) and fish.

Huge bottle with the Canadian flag on it. It must be good then. Wrong. Just as swilly as any other pale lager known to man. The only saving grace is that Canadian flag

    650ml bottle

The beer poured a clear gold colour with a thin white head. The aroma is skunky malt, metallic hops, and other off smells. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is stale grainy malt, and acidic hops, with a sour finish.

Bottle: Poured a pale amber color beer with a medium bubbly head with some average retention. Aroma of unrefined grain is more or less pleasant. Taste is also dominated by some unrefined grain and medium sweetness. There is also a weird metallic taste which might be due to oxidation. It is too bad this beer wasn’t better because weather was perfect too enjoy such a beer.

I'm with Chopz - I'm not sure if this is the same brewery that has traditionally brewed the Elora products, but if it is this is definately a positive step. The first Trafalgar product that I've found better than bad.

Medium gold body with orange tinge and sports a white cap with good retention. Some lacing along the glass as I drink it. Wonderful aroma - sweet malts with some slight floral notes. Very smooth mouthfeel, light to medium bodied. The taste presents itself with some honey and malts to start, and finishes with a hard malt punch. Quite enjoyable on the porch while doing the crossword.

Big big bottle. Tihs one says September 7th on it so it may be a bit off. Big bubbles and no really aroma. Very bitter on the attack that trails off. Not really my favorite, maybe the brewing quality is uneven?

Wow ! I don't know if this is the same Trafalgar brewery I don't like, but this light lager is well-brewed (says Old Mill Brewery on the bottle). And judging from Pootz review, I guess they have changed the recipe since then. Pours a beautiful deep golden colour with a nice creamy off-white head and decent carbonation. The head lasted quite a while, and left silky lacing. This does not look like a light 4% brew. The aromas are sweet and malty. Very smooth mouthfeel with the taste of honey and grain malt. It is quite nice, and I am drinking this one at cellar temperature on a very hot summer night. This is my first Trafalgar positive experience and deserves the title Grang Lager.

650 ml bomber...poured a sickly pale color with gigantic soft drink bubbles..virtually no head from a hard pour. Light aromas of sour cider and a mustiness like mildew. Virtually no body.. slight cidey taste with an unsavory smutty yeast taste.... finish is fast and uneventful. This just may be a beer that copies the flavor profile of grand river water.
