This was nice to try, as it's more of an Oktoberfest vs. Pumpkin Ale...thus Pumpkinfest. Not overwhelming on the pumpkin/nutmeg/all-spice, etc...so enjoyable as the caramel malt is still the theme. One of the better seasonal's out there at this time. Guiney-pigged a single sample first, but would get again...........UPDATED 10/29/13- One of the better pumpkins that I have tried. Light on the spice and you can actually taste the pumpkin vs. background spice. Decent texture too. Upgraded a point in flavor and overall to 8.

new label for this years. dark amber, almost red in color. nice to look at. aroma of all the usual spices and nothing that doesn't belong. big malty undertones too from the festbier! nice touch. adds a bit of depth to the aroma and flavor. body solid as well...not a spiced beer atop a sissy yellow base. well done. thanks again Lou.

A great gift from Brother Lou, HE knows i love my Terrapin and man was this a nice one. A clear amber to dark orangee. Aroma of cloves, pumpkin and cardamom. Taste is mildly sweet, herbal, spicey and pleasent. Once again, finishes so smooth and delicate, and leaves you wishing you had one more.

From a trade with Bluesnbarbq. My first Terrapin, and a new state on the map. Yippee! Pours a dark orange with a reddish tint. Little foam, no head retention. A nice aroma of pumpkins. The taste is full of pumpkin and spices. The nice thing about this pumpkin beer is that it does not taste like pie in a bottle. I suppose this is a result of the Oktoberfest tempering. A great beer that is mixed with pumpkin flavor...very well balanced. Thanks Louis!

This was a really nice pumpkin ale. This is distinguishable from the other pumpkin ales I have had inasmuch as it is a Oktoberfest/Pumpkin ale combo. It was nice - not as spicy as others (such as DFH punk'n ale) and overall more balanced. However, with all of this being said, I prefer spice for a seasonal spice ale. This beer had excellent head retention, smelled a tad weak for a pumpkin ale (little spice aroma), and the flavor was a tad less than a tracking of the smell. I would still try it as it was unique and overall a very good beer.

A murky orange copper colored beer. Small off hite creamy textured head rises above. Not much hang time. And the lacing is a thin soapy ringlet. Bold aromas of cloves and umpkin rise to the nose. Medium carbonation, light on the palate. The tasting is cloves and a more subtle sweet malt with some pumpkin thrown in. A bold attempt, just would have liked to see more ale in the presentation.

Aroma is very effervescent with tons of nutmeg, pumpkin, and cloves coming through as well as some slight cinnamon and bready malt. Appearance is a deep, reddish-orange in color with a full sized head on top that is light-tan in color and diminishes to a creamy, light lacing that adheres to the glass. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and very complex as well as balanced nicely with a pallette that is a tad dry-like as well as a bit thin. Flavor is of tons of spice like cinnamon, nutmeg, and strong pumpkin pie with an aftertaste that is bready with some peppery clove and a finish that is wet-like and tasty and perfect for Fall weather for sure.

Aroma is strong and spicy, mainly cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin - very like a pumpkin pie - but with enough malt to assure you it is indeed beer. It pours a beautiful dark orange amber with a thick, light orange-tan head that quickly dissipates. Flavor is sharp and spicy, malty with a good pumpkin undertone and hints of caramel, nutmeg and cinnamon. Texture is quite rough and lively, leaving an interesting finish.

An Octoberfest/Pumpkin hybrid is my first Terrapin - finally. Pours a beautiful clear deep amber with nice head and very tight lacing throughout. Malts, pumpkin, spices, brown sugar in the potpourri of aromas. Taste is just as advertised - Octoberfest-Pumpkin - with a nice malty base followed by spiced cinnamon pumpkin goodness. Big nice beer from Terrapin. Yum.
