The one I drank was spelled pump[KY]n and was 17.22 ABV. It poured out 100% dark brown that a beam of light couldn't penetrate. The aroma is sweet and malty. The mouthfeel is EXTREMLY thick. The taste is spices and pumpkin and sweet.

2011 bottle split between two snifter pours dark brown with slight carbonation. Aromas are dominated by malts with a slight pumpkin gourdiness (is that a word?). This is deeply sweet, but the sweetness is cut with cinnamon and allspice and the oakiness from the goslings barrels. The pumpkin really plays well with the sweetness and the spices but isn't as forward as I expected. I wouldn't want more than 6 ounces but this is a great brew.

Woah! Lots going on here, this is not your average pumpkin. Some qualities reminiscent of a JW Lees, but then hopped up on all sorts of interesting spices like cinnamon with the added benefit of booziness. Nice.

2011 batch comes in at a whopping 15.90%. Holy crap. Even though it's rum, the booziness in the flavor and especially the aroma is reminiscent of Angels Share. Boozy and really not much like i had imagined, but a very enjoyable sipper nonetheless. more like a liquer or cordialthan a beer. big aroma and flavor of booze, rum, light spices and molasses. nice carbonation and head for a beer so strong. pretty sweet and pleasantly warming. not the first thing i;d reach for when wanting a pumpkin beer, as the pumpkin and spices are relegated to the background, but as an after dinner sipper - very nice. *several months later, less heat, spices and pumpkin definitely shine a little more. very good both times, but it's definitely changed.

Tasted at the 5th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on 11/13/2010. This pumpkin beer pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is malty and sweet with a load of rum and some spices, ginger and allspice. A medium to full bodied pumpkin beer. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal. Lot and lots of rum flavors here to go along with the spices. Lots or rum and did I say lots of rum? Nice balance of the wood, pumpkin and spices which are kind of losing the battle to the rum. I really like this beer, but I wonder if some additional barrel aging time would balance the beer a little more. Lots of alcohol, but it is over 13% after all. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
