Pumking is an ode to Púca, a creature of Celtic folklore, who is both feared and respected by those who believe in it. Púca is said to waylay travelers throughout the night, tossing them on its back, and providing them the ride of their lives, from which they return forever changed. Brewed in the spirit of All Hallows Eve, a time of the year when spirits can make contact with the physical world and when magic is most potent. Pour Pumking into a goblet and allow it’s alluring spirit to overflow. As spicy aromas present themselves, let it’s deep copper color entrance you as your journey into this mystical brew has just begun. As the first drops touch your tongue a magical spell will bewitch your taste buds making it difficult to escape the Pumking.

Half of a shared bomber, form Total Wine, Scottsdale AZ. Amber-orange pour under a brief, beige head. Stellar aroma, spices, vanilla, alcohol, and or course, pumpkin. Full-bodied mouthfeel. Nice flavours, too, the aforementioned pumpkin and spices, with a hint of cinnamon. Not too sweet, either.

I have been wanting to try this for a few years now. Bought on clearance last spring for only $4. Wound up saving it for this Thanksgiving, so was aged about a year. Pumpkin ales are hit or miss for me, but I enjoyed this one. Not overwhelming on the spices, and the pumpkin stands out through in body and taste. Getting some vanilla or cream in the flavor as well. Has a cloudy medium orange to light brown appearance. Good enough to sample again.

Pours a pretty orange-amber - hey, pumpkin color! - with a thick, eggshell-white head that doesn’t stick around too long. Strong, malty aroma has notes of pumpkin and - is that allspice? Something tasty anyway! Malty flavor has decided pumpkin and spice notes, including cinnamon and that possibly allspice flavor. Very drinkable. Texture is smooth with above-average body and a fair tingle, leaving a pumpkin and spicy finish.

Pours an almost clear honey color with a modest, but frothy head that leaves a reasonable splashing of lace. The aroma is of Pumpkin pie spice, vanilla and sweetened cornbread. The taste opens with a rich pumpkin and spice flavor, which becomes increasingly spicy by mid-palate; after the swallow, the cornbread flavor builds, sweet and buttery; the finish has some alcohol on it. The mouthfeel is medium body with moderate carbonation; some warmth on the swallow. Note can't stand anything pumpkin so tried to keep that out of rating.

Pours a nice thick frothy white head and has a pale golden appearance.Thick dirty lacing. Aromas of nutmeg and pumpkin spice. Flavours are quite sweet as well as some spiced notes. More strong nutmeg notes and some pumpkin spice quite apparent, leaves somewhat of a bitter taste on the palate. Also some hints of cinnamon and sugar. Alcohol semi well blended, becomes much more noticeable as you progress. Actually quite sweet. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Good retention. Good but the 650ml bottle is sufficient for my liking.

22 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy yellow orange with a medium creamy white head that retains fairly well and leaves little lacing.
The aroma is sweet pumpkin and lots of spice - nutmeg, cinnamon and hazelnut.
The flavor is sweet pumpkin with a lot of spicy cinnamon and some nutmeg and hazelnut. The finish is kind of harsh medicinal cinnamon The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with slightly sharp carbonation.
Overall, similar spicing to the Warlock. Seems more overdone with the roast to balance. -

Pumpkin pie in a bottle. Deeply spiced with nutmeg, all-spice and whatever else one might put in a pumpkin pie. Let this one warm a bit before drinking as it reall brings out the depth of character. Flavor? You guessed it pumpkin pie spice.

Where's the whipped cream? One thing describes Pumpking. Liquid Pumpkin Pie! The thin head sits on top of the orange body. Scents of candy corn, nougat and candy sugar waft from the glass. Notes of spice, sugar, spice, sugar, and, well, spice and sugar lay on the buds. Oh yeah, and there is pumpkin too. This may be way over the top for some, but I liked it. Although it could be toned down a bit.

Clear gold, almost orangey, thin white cap. Smells mildly spiced but more sweet pumpkin: lightly fruity and almost melonish-- honestly amazing. Nutmeg and orange oil flavors nearly disguise those wonderful aromas, though. Thought the bitterness mellows and sweetness rises over time, the flavor never meets the promise of the aroma. Fizzy light feel, wet and unsticky. Overall, disappointing.
