The Gnarly Barley is one of the three beers we always have on tap at Tequesta Brewing Co. I started brewing it about two-and-a-half years ago and it started out as something I made from a large home-brew system. It's one of the first we will be putting out for distribution. It's a copper pale ale -- a very hoppy beer.

An orange-amber colored beer with a small foamy textured, white head. There's some hang time on the head. And the nedium sized ringlet and light dusting of film left behind are impressive enough. For a warm subtropical mid afternoon, this one was a treat. Light nose of pines, sweet malt and oranges. The same, more pronnouced in the pines but not over ly so, with grapefruit also carrying a share of the flavoring. Medium bodied, well carbonated and refreshing.
