Tennent's was the first lager to be brewed in Scotland. An authentic Scottish lager with a distinctive, crisp taste...it remains Scotland's favourite beer it accounts for about 25% of beer sales in Scotland. It's success: high quality, natural ingredients; purest water, finest Scottish barley, and the care and experience which only 400 years of family brewing heritage can bring.

I've never really detected a strong aroma from Tennents, but it goes down nice and smooth. OK, it may not have jazzy after tastes or look any different from a million other lagers, but on a night out with your friends you can't beat it. It is a little fizzy, but much smoother than Bud, put it this way, it doesn't account for 25% if all Scottish beer sales for nothing!

Had a pint at Central Bierhaus in Kanata. Pour a nice size frothy white head and has a yellowish golden appearance. Dirty soapy lacing. Aromas are mainly wheats and grains. Flavours of sweet malts, wheats, light hoppy hints. Fairly excessive carbonation. Smooth and fairly creamy mouthfeel.

pours a nice golden yellow with a nice white head that stays around for a while. A sweet skunky aroma arise up to greet the nose. Beer was refreshing and smooth but was not outstanding. I expected more from this lager.

Can from the LCBO at 5% ABV, says imported from Scotland (I guess they pumped it up for Canadian drinkers or maybe we are getting their 1885 Export Lager - not sure). Pours a golden colour with a big creamy white head that stays a while and leaves dirty lace. Matly nose on the corn side... with hints of adjunct. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Not much to the taste; light maltiness, with hints of hop that gives a touch of fruity flavour to it. Nothing really bad and probably a decent session brew in Scotland.

    February 4, 2012
LCBO Outlet #217 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Queen’s Quay)
    500ml can
    4.4% ABV
    $2.25
The beer poured a translucent medium gold colour with a thin white head which quickly disappeared. The aroma was grainy malt, vegetables and acids. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was wretched and metallic. Very acidic and left me not able to discern much in the way of malt or hops. Possibly a drainpour.

440 ml can, as Wellpark Tennent’s, brewed at Wellpark Brewery, Glasgow. Bought in Spain. ABV is 4.0%. "Lager" is not part of the beer’s name, but I assume this is just a slightly weaker version of the ordinary Tennent’s Lager. Golden colour, moderate white head, some lacing. Weak sweetish and "industrial" aroma. Fairly refreshing flavour, tolerable hops, and not quite as thin as feared from a 4.0% lager.

Gold, nice white head. Euro lager without the skunk, good amount of fruitand grain. Nice spice, ok fruit, subdued grain, more spice now - I’m surprised. Tons of carbonation, quite gassy, so-so overall.

Skunky sweet aroma, standard yellow body, not much carbonation or head. Flavor of sweet malts, some metallic hints showed as well. My uncle was stationed in Scotland for a few years and he claimed this to be one of their best beers, i guess they ship us the crap and keep the good stuff for themselves.

Quite a poor effort. Somehow manages to have a metallic taste, even from the bottle, which overpowers every other flavour, making any mention flowery mention of taste or aroma superfluous.

Like most things British...Tennent's lacks pizzazz...very bland all the way around. Pale gold, bubbly white head, grass aroma, weak hops, and the typical crisp lager flavour associated with North American lagers. Decent, but not outstanding
