Taps Rye Knot This “North West Pacific” style pale ale with the assertive bitterness and citrus flavours that make it a perfect match for spicy or fatty foods. Deep golden to copper in colour, this ale produces a beautiful head leaving nice lacey threads on the sides of the glass as it is drained. The spicy hops are definitely the star of this show while the rye malt plays a largely supporting role.

Pours an average size frothy off-white head and has a fairly clear amber appearance. Some thick dirty lacing. Aromas of toasted malts, hints of caramel and breads. Flavours are mostly the malted rye but with some notes of caramel and spices in the mix. Also some hints of toasty malts. Good retention and mouthfeel. Has a little bit of a metallic like aftertaste but mainly in the finish and not too offensive. Not bad overall.

Wow, have not seen a Taps brew at the LCBO since my last review in 2007! Pours a clean amber colour with a warm cap leaving some decent creamy lacing. Caramel malt aromas with some cereal notes and wet paper. The taste is more on the bitter side over the caramel. The rye lingers in the finish. A decent hoppier rye brew.

on Tap Taps a murky turbid light brown, decent rocky cap, great lacing ability. Sweet and sour sensation in the nose, malty sourdough with leafy hopping. Peppery spicy on the tongue, bright grainy character, Big chew on sour rye in the front with some sweetness (crystal malt?) spicy with a herbal-citrus hop flair....finish is clean and dry. A very respectable, drinkable rye beer, flavorful, quenching and good for a patio session
