Rated Sept. 2013. 22oz bomber pours with a crystal clear gold body that supports a fairly dense off white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up malty sweet grapefruit, faint mango and spicy hops. As it warmed the coconut aromatics became more noticeable. The taste start with an interesting mix of coconut meat, grapefruit citrus hops and a modest degree of dank onion hop notes. I get more smooth and unsweetened coconut coming forward into the finish. Nice stuff, this. The coconut blends in and enhances the experience.

Another gifted Stone bomber/Wish List beer. Nice golden orange pour, white head, copious amounts of lacing. I let this warm just a touch before opening, hoping to get more coconut. Nice tropical fruits, and slight coconut, upfront in the nose and flavors, more citrus hops, great malt presence so sweeten and enhance the underlying coconut and tropical fruitiness, then a very nice bitter linger. I really dig this beer. Glad to finally try it - Thanks CascadeCandace for this one!

I really wanted to give this a low to mid 4 rating...but just couldn't. A solid IPA, just blends in with the zillion others in this style. Doesn't quite stand out to put it in that top tier....especially for the price, so I might be a point or two low here. A lighter malt-west coast type. Semi-clear light orange appearance. I am not really tasting or feeling the coconut here, so I'd say just another good IPA from Stone, and leave it at that.

I haven't rated anything in a while, so I thought I would try to get back into the habit of doing so. The only real disappointment here is that i expected something called a coconut IPA to smell and/or taste a bit like coconut. Zero coconut detection. I am left with an IPA, and it is a good one. Completely average and forgettable, but good. Light orange in color, thin foam, completely translucent. Just as I expected: not worth the money.

Pours a nice clear amber with a thick, though not persistent, ivory head. Hoppy aroma has a malty undertone and an appreciable note of - yes, coconut. Woody hops dominate the flavor, while malt, fruit, and a little coconut make their appearances. Flavor has average fizz and viscosity, though it leaves a nice hoppy and scarcely bitter finish. OK, not spectacular, but merits a try.

I thought this was delicious, though in Stones vast array of IPas, this wouldn't be the go to. Aroma mostly hops, citrus and pine up front. Flavor is almost abrasive, super hoppy fruity and bitter. The light coconut in the nose and flavor turns almost buttery as it opens and gives the beer a unique feel. Worth a try for sure. Unique and tasty.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a medium bubbly white head that quickly goes to a thin film that laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet bready malts, some ripe tropical fruit (with light coconut) and floral hops with a bit of stink.
The flavor is sweet malts with a kind of chemical coconut flavor and bitter grassy hops that taste a bit charred in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with creamy carbonation.
Overall, an interesting experiment but doesn't work for me. The coconut tastes fake and the doesn't work with the grassy floral hops. I much prefer their coffee IPA.
