It's been said that "Gravity Sucks." Simple enough. Well, we at Stone have identified gravitational forces in the beer world. And we have come to the conclusion that they, well, see above. So we avoid these less-than-desirable gravitational forces. We avoid dumbed-down flavor profiles and the vigorous pursuit of the lowest common denominator. We avoid big dollar marketing mentalities. We avoid additives, cheap adjuncts, stabilizers and chemical preservatives. So in the defiance of gravity we bring you Stone Levitation Ale. This deep amber ale has rich malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol. Light tan very fine head. Lots of carbonation coating glass. Clear dark brown body. Fairly hoppy aroma for an amber ale. Smells like fresh hops. Thin, almost watery, body. First flavor is of english hops, followed by a VERY slight sweetness, like Splenda. Not very balanced. Hops linger on the palate for some time.

35,5cl bottle from Ølhandleriet, Oslo. Pours clear, deep amber with an off-white head. Hoppy nose! Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel, malt, fruits and spices with some roasty notes. Medium to light body with a fairly lively carbonation. Fairly sweet and pleasantly malty, deliciously hopped with a quite dry and bitter finish. Very enjoyable and easy to drink. Now that is what I call a good session beer. More of this please!

Small tan head, fair retention and lace. Clear amber color. Good malt and hop nose. Medium body. Light malt toastiness backed up with a nice hop presence and bitterness. Finish is dry, nice hoppy bite. A nicely balanced, malt to hop session beer. Very nice. Highly quaffable.

Rated Nov. 2006. 12oz bottle. Clear copper color with off white head. Solid citrus, orange to grapefruit, hop aroma. Also a hint of malt. Flavor starts off with citrus hop flavor and hop bitterness. The flavor recedes just about midway and softens into a hop and slightly malt aftertaste.

Clear amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus and earthy hops. More balanced flavor--plenty of citrus hop notes but offset just nicely by a strong malt presence. Highly drinkable with so much packed into such a "light" (low ABV) beer.

Pours slightly hazy amber with an eggshell colored two-finger thick head. The head dissipates slowly. Some nice lace is left behind. The aroma of piney hops is strong. There are also citrus and malt aromas as well. It's a very earthy smell. The big hop flavors hit up front to perfectly support the mild malt flavors. The citrus and sweetness are subdued, but present. It's incredibly well balanced. There is a slight bitter aftertaste. The body to this beer is on the light side. The carbonation is not strong, but this beer is still very easy to drink. Overall, this is another solid offering from Stone, it's a sessionable hop forward ale.

Pours a bronze color. Smell is of hops, citrus. Taste is more malty than the smell, hops are also apparent, well balanced. Overall an easy drinking and quality beer.

The king of amber ales. A beautiful hazed copper coloiured pour with a thin tan head. Holy wowzaa....tons of citrusy hops in the aroma. There's also some spice and caramel malt for good measure. The flavour is a nice balance between the caramel malts and the citrusy hops. Definitely the king of amber ales

Decent hop nose with a nice appearance, brilliantly clear with an amber/brown color. Definitely a malty beer with some hops back, light mouthfeel and easy to drink. Nothing remarkable on this one but I think that is what they were going for, this is beer flavored beer.
