My beer 1300 (on ratebeer), and a good way to "celebrate" it. Dark ruby red colour, mediumsized slightly off-white head. Pleasant roasted malts in aroma, along with coffee, chocolate and burnt wood. The same things in flavour, along with a sting of alcohol and licorace. Very good, I would like to have some of this in my cellar...

The body is a clear brown, barely even qualifies to be a porter in that aspect. The aroma is quite earthy with a strong bit of alcohol. In fact, the alcohol is probably runs a little too strong throughout the beer and comes across abrasive more than anything else. A bit of spice lingers underneath. The same runs through the flavor with a little dried fruit and caramel.

dark brown colour, the initial head quickly reduces, subtle aroma of licorice, prune and coffee, (too) sweet and oily, decent bitterness, the finish is long and warming with strong notes of chocolate and alcohol - very good; thanks to DomTom for this one

Pours a very dark brown with red hues and a thin tan head. Aroma is very pleasing and sweet, strong molasses, caramel, and chocolate highlight. Flavor starts with a thick sweetness, figs soaked in molasses, raisins, chocolate, and finishes up with a short but aggresive hop presence with some hints of alcohol. Fairly warming, great stuff. Cheap too, I'd definitely pick this one up again.

The aroma is very malty and sweet with some very slight chocolate as well. The appearance is neutral and very earthy-like and very dark brown but dark red amber when held to the light with a nice off-white head that is thin but lasts and sticks to the glass. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and nice and complex with balance as well. The flavor is of chocolate malt with some spice and creamy with even very slight hints of yeast in the aftertaste. The finish also is very pleasant and smooth. Overall, a very good porter and I was very surprised and is not too heavy and has hints of chocolate with some hints of coffee, very good and refreshing.

Pours with a dark red brown bady topped by a thick off-white head with a good amount of lace left behind. Slighlty sweet malt aroma without much character. Very plain and weal aroma. Slightly sweet malty flavor with a strong alcohol presence and a touch of roasted coffee and licorice. The finish is full of licorice/anise. Full bodied, tingling on the tongue and warming.

The beer is too sweet and alcoholic to be nice, though the color and foam is ok. It smells ok, but I feel something in this smell that have nothing to do with beer.
