Starr Hill’s Little Red RooStarr Coffee Stout is a full-bodied milk stout brewed with coffee from our friends at Red Rooster Coffee Roasters in Floyd, VA. Malt sweetness, chocolate and caramel notes dominate the flavor, while roasted coffee notes add balance and round out the aroma.

I had this beer at the River & Rail Resturant in Roanoke, VA. A very nice beer. Balanced well - not too much sweetness, nice coffee presence. I like this beer a lot.

Pours an opaque coffee that lets in a sliver of daylight at the bottom and has a thick tan head. Quality coffee dominates the tempting aroma, but lets through notes of roast malt, caramel and toffee. Flavor delights with rich coffee, caramel and malty notes plus hints of toffee and chocolate. Drinking like this is like drinking a fancy iced brew from Caribou Coffee, except for the alcohol. Firm, fizzy texture leaves a satisfying roast coffee finish. This one will get you crowing!

This beer has a nice bitter coffee taste with a touch of caramel and chocolate, but the coffee takes center stage. Super rich black color always catches my eye and makes me even more anxious to taste the "black gold". This is my first coffee cream stout, so I was very anxious to try it. Believe it is a play on different words for a milk stout. Really enjoy trying Virginia brewery beers and hope that this becomes a regular offering from Starr Hill.
