Nov. 2012: Shared 330 ml bottle from Vinmonopolet, at Cardinal Yule beer tasting. Reddish colour, moderate beige head. Strong aroma of Christmas spices, too much anise / aniseed (as in a couple other beers from this brewery). Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is spicy and medium sweet, again with too much anise / aniseed.

The beer pours a slightlu hazy golden red colour with a bubbly pinkish head which quickly recedes to a lacing. The aroma is berries, spices, caramel malt, and weak hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is dominated by Belgian yeasty notes, some caramel, some weak hops, and grainy malts. The beer does not taste as good as it smells, but still tastes pretty good.

Bottle. Colour - Murly brown, huge foamy head. Aroma - Dark fruits, candy sugar. Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, slightly creamy. Overall - A very flavourful beer. Well balanced with a malty sweetness and well hidden alcohol.

Hazy dark ruby color with small light brown foam head. Aroma is heavy barley, but also wheat, hay and grass. Taste is complex, some sweet, but more so yeast, earth, grass. Aftertaste is somewhat bitter. (Velp 201302)

sampled 11/2/09. 750 ml bottle with ryan. pours a cloudy medium brown color. medium head. aroma is spicy/fruity, yeasty esters. taste is spicy/fruity and malty sweet. cinnamon and nutmeg, a little caramel as it warms. body is full. mouthfeel is creamy, smooth. aftertaste is a little sweet.

Stumbled across a couple bottles from 2007. What a lush strong Belgian ale, perfect for a cold night and I'm sure the age did some great things to this beer. Pours a mottled reddish brown color with slow carbonation, a frothy tan head, and streaky lacing. Dark cherries, earthy yeast and a wonderful musty/sweaty odor that takes this aroma to a new level. Nicely blended, very mellow with a rich malt body. Filling and the beer rolls back with a calm sweetness. Overly ripe grape and berry flavor with nutty bread and funky yeast mixed in. A drawn out spicy characteristic adds more depth.

little stubby 330ml bottle provided by stickler stu!! .. . baked brown bread crust and belgian cellar yeast in the nose .. . great chocolate, cellar dust (nun allergies), and faint fruit in the taste .. . a great xmas brew.. . feels dru-ish ... . a real easy to drink brew for the winter, i would serve this to my guests, unlike last year were i flashed them...

A truly enjoyable Christmas beer. It pours a dark reddish brown with a thin tan coloured head. The aroma is dark malt, dark fruit, and some seasonal spices. The flavour is slightly sweet with caramel and fruit, and ends in a dryish, bitter finish.

I guess I set myself up for a huge let down, as I was expecting this one to be more like Delirium Noel, but St. F's Cuvee was not what I had hoped it would be. A reddish/chestnut color liquid holds up a head that melts quickly, but has good retention, especially after a few swirls of the glass. The nose is very yeasty, yielding some smoke and citrus scents. The flavor wasn't really as bold as I thought it would be. Kind of bland for a brew of it's ilk, especially a Christmas version. The finish was very warming with a tinge of dry bitterness. I wish I had known this before I spent the money on a 22 oz bottle at Vintage Wine Estates in Boardman, OH for gift giving purposes.

Pours pretty much brown with a nice off-white head, some good retention and spotty lacing. Aroma at first was very mild but after the bottle breathes it opens up. This beer is pretty good, ripe dark fruit, spice, yeast and some malt. Pretty well rounded and a solid drink. A little bit better than the Delirium Noel I just had.
