SPEIGHT'S DISTINCTION ALE is based on Speight's Brewery's 1880's Strong Ale brewsheets. It is a full-flavoured male Ale with a reddy-brown hue. FIVE MALTS have been blended to create this premium ales' full maltiness. The predominant impression is of caramel flavours with a light hoppy estery note, providing a clean, extended finish. THE LARGEST SELLER in the Speight's Craft Range, with volumes too large for production out of the wooden kauri gyles at Speight's, it is brewed under supervision in classic copper kettles in Christchurch. Underscored by hints of caramel and butterscotch, DISTINCTION ALE is an ideal accompaniment to meat dishes. It can hold its own against such robust flavours as steak, lamb, venison and even roasted pork. Speight's Distinction can also be used as a tasty and uniquely flavoured marinade for these hearty meats.
