Enjoyed a six-pack of this nice micro. Nothing special but overall a pretty good beer. Nice flavor and appealling packaging, would definitely try this again.

Poured from 12 ounce bottle into pint glass A: Sweet caramel malt and floral hops A: Amber in color with big tan head and bubbles through out T: Initially crisp then caramel malts and then a hoppy finish that sticks around. Medium body with heavy carbonation. Nothing really stands out as exceptional, but it would be a good session beer.

Pours a deep reddish-brown with a thick but not persistent head. Aroma is pleasantly malty and fairly strong. Malty flavor has some nutty undertone to it. Finishes very smoothly with minimal bitterness.

pretty standard english pale. lots of malt with a hint of spice and a little orange peel on the side. nothing to make me mad, or to change my mind about a fairly boring style.

The name is misleading as there is nothing black about this beer. There is nothing good or bad about this beer, it's a boring example of the style. The ultimate tick.

It pours a dark burnt-orange/amber/red with a thick light tan head and some lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, hops, orange, bread and yeast, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, orange and citrus, tea leaves, bread and yeast, and spices. Excellent!

Tried this over at a buddy's house. After the first sip, I wasn't THAT impressd but it slightly grew on me towards the end. Still seemed a little off-balanced, slightly bitter or metallic? Not sure if that's part of the style, but I have been hesitant to try Spanish Peaks after that. It wasn't bad at all, just not what I expected. Would most likely rather go with a Belgian Ale instead.....or some other micro with similar style.

The pour is a very dark amber with an off-white head that lingers before giving decent lacing. The scent is made of flowers, citrus and toffee. The taste of more of the same, mostly floral and citrusy with some sweeter toffee at the finish. The mouthfeel is medium with little carbonation. Drinkability is okay, but I would not want more than a few of these. Overall, it's not bad, but there are better beers to be had.

Poured a brilliant amber-red with a smallish of-white cap that lasted fairly well and laces the glass. Aromas of caramel malts, leafy hops and earthiness...nice nose. Big chew on sweetish caramel malts in the front then the willemette hops balance with resinous botanical bittering. this rides to the finish where it turns the drink dry and moderately bitter. A well crafted amber. Nice quaffer.

What's nearly as inviting asa woman who stays quiet while bring ya a brew? The loyality of a dog. Put either one on the label of a brew and you got my attention. Dark brown body, okay foamy head. More sweet malt than I could detect hops.
