Reddish-orange color, reminiscent of a turning leaf, mellow malt aromas and flavors, soft and medium bodied, Brewmaster Rande Reed has created this German-style Festbier to ease the way from lazy summer days into the more bracing days of autumn! Highly kilned Munich malt, German Tettnanger hops, cold fermentation, and long, cold aging yield unrivalled smoothness and flavors not found in ordinary beers. Exceptionally clean and satisfying, Harvest Moon is a perfect complement for sauerkraut and wurst or wild boar - or enjoy a stein all by itself!

Bomber from Pt Roberts (WA) Marketplace. Poured a body of dark amber beneath a smallis ivory head. Aroma had maybe some malt and a lesser amount of hops. Taste had rather more caramel than I like; started so-so but improved as we went along.

Bottle from 5000/Larry Pitonka. The pour was clear brilliant orange, nice generous off-white head in a glass that normally doesn't foster a good head, lacing was spotty/splotchy, pretty nice looking for the style! The aroma was toasted malts, caramel most of all, good toastiness, thirst beckoning. The flavor followed the aroma, very excellent production within the ofest style, toasted caramel, light nuts, some good zingy spice in there too from the yeast?, and ultimately a nicely bittered finish, on the stronger side of hop levels for the style, yet this was certainly malty firm too. A great brew, and much thanks to Andre for this bad boy. A top 10pctile ofest brew in my book, crisp clean, finish.

This Marzen pours a deep cooper color from a 22oz bottle. Medium bodied white foamy head. Aroma is a touch malty, some fruitiness and a touch of hops. Medium bodied Marzen. Malts are caramel, fruity and sweet, yet there is a touch of roasty malt as well. Hops are floral and earthy. Kind of sweet and fruity with a dry malty finish. Good balance. Nice carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
