As winter begins its slide toward the sunny days of spring, we bring you Glissade Golden Bock to help you enjoy the ride. Glissade is a remarkably mellow take on the traditional spring bock. With restrained sweetness, we emphasize subtle malt flavor, balanced against delicate aromas of spicy and floral European hops. This complex balance helps Glissade slide across the palate—bracing us against the last cold nights of winter, while its bright golden color turns our thoughts toward spring. Pours a pretty clear amber with an average white head. Aroma is crisp, fruity and somewhat sweet. Flavor is crisp, malty, fruity and sightly sweet, like a typical lager but with more complexity. Lively, edgy and tingly texture leaves a fruity and slightly hop-bitter finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a medium white head that quickly diminishes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is cereal grains, hay and a little honey with some soapy floral hops.
The flavor is sweet malts with some off, slightly metallic notes. It leads to a medium bitterness in the finish that is a bit plasticky. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, I didn't really care for this. The off notes subsided some as I drank it, but it was still not something I liked. -

[ Additional note: This beer is, IMHO, quite underrated here. Its not a "huge" beer and it is "simple" but an excellent simple beer is a thing of beauty.} By the way, let this warm significantly to really discover its depth. Smells a bit like a pasture, some grassy scents, quite floral, a touch of hop spiciness, maybe some caramel notes, and malt.... this is a very nice nose. First one poured with NO HEAD at all, read above reviews so threw it out and opened another. This one pours a frothy very white and tight head which sits above a clear, medium gold body and leaves nice lace. Yeasty pools sprout up on the skim coat that is left. Mouth on this is medium bodied and very slippery which is nice. Coats the pallet well. A lot more hops bitterness than one would expect in a bock, this is almost a hybrid style. More complex than most of SN's offerings methinks. Lots of clean light fruit, apples and grapes with significant sweetness hit the mouth and then follows some lemon and pepper, with a tart slightly bitter finish. Aftertaste is quite dry considering how sweet it started out. Alcohol is warming and also plays as part of the taste especially in the finish. This is a very well done beer!

I wouldn't have guessed this was a bock if I hadn't read the label. A thin straw colored beer with a grassy hop nose. Flavor is full and quite hoppy with a strong malt body. Its a good flavor for sure but overall its a lighter beer.

A clear, golden, straw color. A huge, bright white soapy head. The pour was rather aggressive. Good retention. Decent lacing. Not many bubbles rising from the bottom. A very clean and fresh grain and grassy aroma. Some subtle bready malt. Smells very similar to a Pilsner. It's got that German hop note. The taste revealed some more of the fresh grass and grain characteristics. This had a slight "beer" taste. Some pretty nice amounts of bitterness come through. A bit of biscuit. Medium mouthfeel. Smooth and crisp. Refreshing and rather thirst quenching. Mostly dry in the mouthfeel with some pretty good carbonation. This is another brew that would be excellent for Summer. Very easy to drink and very refreshing. This style of beer is not normally my favorite, but I like this one ok. I wouldn't turn it down nor would I have any trouble setting several of these back on a hot day.

I picked up this beer from Fresh Market in Roanoke, VA. This beer isn't bad at all and is a wonderful transition beer from the heavy beers of winter. It smells quite nice and is an overall solid beer. Tastes a lot like a traditional pilsner even though it's a bock.

Apr. 2010 - Clear golden pour with nice fluffy head and some decent lacing. Aroma and flavor of grass and hay with sweet fruity notes. A nice sweet beer, but still refreshing with a mild hop kick. Hops were grassy and European. This was a good one, again, by SN.

Pours out in a clear golden colour with a dense and firm sticky white foam. Grass hops mild citru and sweetish undertones of melon. Medium-bodied with hoppy notes of grass, straw, mild citric fruit and mild white pepper. A bit thin body for a bock. Medium-bitter finish of wet grassy hops.

Not that I didn't expect it coming from Sierra Nevada, but this is one fine beer. What it lacks in complexity is more than made up for in refreshing, simple goodness. Soft, full bodied with a nice even finish--not too bitter and not too sweet.

Very nice! Picked this up at Kraigs Kegs in Oneida. Poured an orangish amber with solid white head. Good balance of aroma and flavors that complimented rather that competed with each other. I found this very smooth and drinkable.
