Our classic American pale ale lends its copper color to the rich specialty grains. This craft ale is balanced with four kettle hop additions to a near IPA quality. It is one of the few beers we finish through whole leaf hops lending a nice fresh earthy aroma and flavor.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden copper with a smallish off white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet bready toasted caramel malt with some fruity light resiny hops.
The flavor is sweet toasted biscuit malts and some rye(?) with a good sized grassy bitterness. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall, an OK pale ale. It has really good bitterness, I just don't really care for the toasted malts and grassy bitterness. -

Bottled (thanks hanniku!). Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is mild sour wood, some fruits, caramel and some mild sweet maltyness. Flavour is fruits, some sourish wooden notes as well as some mild citrusy notes. Grassyness in the finish as well.

Pours a cloudy copper color with a small head with some decent lacing. Floral hops, sweet malt and citrus on the nose. Tastes as it smells with the hops (floral and citrus notes) and sweet malt leading the way giving way to a pleasant, dry finish. A fine representation of the style. One of the Midwest's best kept secrets. My second adventure with a Short's brew and another winner. Recommended.

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt with some floral and lightly bitter hops. Taste is a nice in between some floral hops with a slightly bitter and citrus ending and a great malt backbone. Full body with very low filtration and some medium carbonation. Well done and easily drinkable and very much appreciated the low level of filtration.
