Exclusively brewed in reminiscence of Georg Schneider's privilege of being part of the perennial Munich Octoberfest until 1942 when his master Weisse Brauhaus im Tal, Munich was destroyed during World War II. Georg Schneider designed the Original recipe, Georg Schneider IV presented it last to the Munich Octoberfest, and Georg Schneider VI along with his renowned team of brewmasters has now revived it after 57 years of dormancy. Enjoy and celebrate!

500 ml bottle, as Schneider Weisse Tap 4 Mein Grünes, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brewed with organic ingredients. ABV is 6.2%. Hazy brownish golden colour, big head, slightly off-white. Strong and lovely aroma of ripe bananas and cloves. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is reasonably malty for a hefeweizen, with distinct notes of cloves. Very moderate hops. The alcohol is well hidden. Good beer.

European beers always seem to have what I call an old world malt flavor. it is distinct and its maltier than malt, it reminds me of old vines in wine, and makes me wonder if its years of using the same malting vats or running everything through the same pipelines for years or if there are just bat guano droppings falling from the ceiling because of more progressive conservation laws in europe. there something richer in the flavor, something woodruffy or like a light cologne in the background and that is what this has.. or at least it had until I left it in the fridge not quite sealed and it got my amber funk verging on nailpolish flavor to it. To bad, the first two glasses were savorable, the last two not so much.

Decent for a Hef. Cloudy pale to medium yellow appearance. Not much aroma, but not skunky or sour neither. Flavor has some wheat and sweet fruit, with mild hop to balance out. Similar to the other Schneider wheats that I sampled, though smoother perhaps because of the lighter ABV%.

It pours a thick and nectarlike(with traces of sediment) burnt-orange/amber with thin white-head and light lacing. A sweet aroma of caramel apples, oranges, banana, plum, and choice spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, light apple, citrus, banana, plum, wheat, bread and yeast, and spiciness. Excellent!
