With more than 2,800 bodies of water in the Adirondacks, it's not too hard to find a sunny place to relax, rest your feet and look out over the water. To celebrate, Summer in the Adirondacks, we've brewed a beer with generous mounts of wheat malt for a light, refreshing taste. Look for the subtle hints of lemon and spice. Enjoy!

Aroma is wheaty with lemon and yeast hints. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Wheaty flavor has the typical yeast and citrus notes of a decent wheat beer. Refreshing, it not spectacular. Texture is fizzy and has about average thickness. Nice for a hot summer day - or to bring a little summer sunshine into a chilly day.

It pours a bright burnt-orange/amber with a fairly thick head and a narrow ring of lacing. An aroma of fresh wheat malts, light hops, lemony-citrus, and spices and a peppery mix. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of wheat malts, light hops, lemon and citrus, bread and yeast, and a fair arrangement of spices. Mmmm....

12 Beers of Summer Saranac 12-pack -
Aroma - bready aroma, kinda jammy actually...no noticeable lemon or spices.
Appearance - clear body, light bronze/orange body with a fluffy 3" white head
Taste - the lemon and spice notes do make a subtle apperance in the flavor profile, suprisingly tart. Don’t get the wheat flavor though, but still quaffable.
Palate - light bodied, thin...clean
Overall - another decent beer in the Saranac 12-pack. -

you can smell and taste the wheat, as well as the lemon. if it ended there, it'd be a solid better-than-average summer session beer, but the subtle spice note at the end takes away from the whole a little. still decent, nothing special.

Sampled on 5/19/2010. This wheat ale pours a medium amber color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head with decent retention. The aroma is cereal and bready with some citrus and a hint of orange. A light to medium bodied wheat ale. The malts are cereal and grainy, there is some caramel sweetness here as well. The hops are slightly spicy. A fairly typical summer beer, light and refreshing, not to heavy of very high in the alcohol. A touch of spiciness and some citrus. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

I received this as part of the Saranac Summer Sampler which I got at Staples Corner Liquors in Gambrills, MD. I've had several Saranac products before, but had never tried the Summer Ale, so I was curious to see how this one stacked up versus the other products offered from this brewery.
The beer pours out a copper/golden color with a medium sized, white head which quickly dissolves. The smell coming out of the glass is a "no brainer". The aroma is that of wheat and lemon and it freely emits from the glass as it sits there on the counter top.
When you get around to drinking it, you are faced with a pretty standard American wheat. It is smooth drinking, refreshing, crisp, and summery. Lemon is the abundant flavor here with the wheat flavor playing the supporting roll.
Overall we are talking about a nicely crafted beer here that is slightly above average. This is a great beer to have at a party in the summer or to take out on the boat with you when you go fishing. If you are looking for something that challenges the taste buds though, you are barking up the wrong tree with this one. -

It has a clear filtered body that is golden color. Its head is white, bubbly and fades fast. The aroma is light and has a lemony essence. Its flavor is simple, sweet and lemony with light wheat malt. The body is medium with a slightly slick feel and an average carbonation. Overall it is a very refreshing ale with a clean flavor.

Lemon is in the drivers seat with this one, and it's infused rather well into the brew. Copper color with a thin vibrant white head and some minor spotty lacing. Big lemon aroma with some light spice, it's somewhat captivating. Slick mouth feel accompanies a medium-light body. Flavor is clean and rather simple. Light crisp malt backed by lots of lemon sweetness and mild spice. Quenching and much nicer than I expected.

This beer was tasty and had a bit of zest to it. This was a nice refreshing beer. There was a hint of citrus with this beer, but not enough to overpower the beer itself. I liked it.

Bottle ( thanks Eric, you da man!) Pours a shimmering amber-gold ale with a light protien haze in my pint glass. Remarkable puffy white cap lasts a while then laces the glass. Moderate carbonation. Aromas are nice: herbal, spicey, citrus no sweetness. Nice dose of corriander up front some citrus peel then the malts kick in and it goes to a spiced biscuit decernemnt,,,finish is clean with more sweetness developing but then balaced at the very end with herbal bittering and spice. A nice summer beer kind of like a saison with wheat.
