In celebration of the fall harvest, here's an autumn favorite that's as enjoyable as pumpkin pie. This hearty ale is brewed with cinnamon, allspice, cloves and vanilla. Look for a full body and amber color. We're sure you'll enjoy this special brew!

Sampled on 9/28/2012. This pumpkin beer pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and spicy. A medium bodied pumpkin beer. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent spicing, allspice, cinnamon and some cloves. Mild carbonation. Decent pumpkin flavors, but it’s a little sweet. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some spices.

Pours an orangish brown body and a nice off-white head, nice retention and lacing are bothy good. The aroma pairs understated sweet malt with a lot of spices, with nutmeg being the predominant one. I've said this about every pumpkin beer I've tried, there's too much nutmeg. Nutmeg is a powerful spice, so you don't need to use much. In addition to the nutmeg comes a hint of cinnamon, and probably a few other spices that I cannot pick out. Also like all other pumpkin beers I can't stand the taste. I hate anything flavored pumpkin!!!!! Pumpkin's should be used for decoration only not for eating/drinking.

It pours a dark brown and burnt-orange with a thin white head and some surrounding lacing. An aroma of pumpkin pie, caramel malts, orange, bread, and spices. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, pumpkins, oranges, bread, some bitterness and spices. A pretty good pumpkin ale..

This beer pours a dark amber color with a white head that does not hang around to much. The aroma and taste was nutmeg and pumpkin but it was much to light, it is a pretty good amber but overall not much in the spice.

A beer I've had many times, but haven't rated yet. Dark but clear amber, small off white head. Aroam is fresh and fruity, with pumpkin and spices on the nose. Taste is mellow, not too much pumpkin, but just the right amount. Noticeable clove on the palate.

Another pumpkin. Cool label - nice orange amber pour with a light head and a little lacing. Big sweet spicy and pumpkin aroma with a good dose of brown sugar. Taste is much like the nose with a nice pumpkin flavor.

Apparently a friend had this left over from the fall... while admittedly not a huge fan of the pumpkin brews, this one was slightly better than avergae and slightly better than I would have thought. Dark amber with a medium head, good lacing and nice blend of spice complexity. Good enogh to drink again.

This beer I actually found on special at my local market for $5 a sixer normally marked at $9 a sixer. I have not been happy with Saranac beers in the past but this one was tasty. The aroma was of pumpkin and clove with hints of cinnamon. The taste was masked when it was too cold but as it warmed notes of cinnamon, mace, clove, ginger and honey appeared. Overall a good beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark ruby color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light pumpkin with notes of cinnamon and cloves more perceptible then I had expected. Taste is also dominated by cloves and cinnamon which are well balanced with pumpkin and light caramel malt. Body is a bit light for my own taste with good carbonation. Some additional character and more body would have greatly benefited this beer which is still very enjoyable.
