mmmmmmmmm This was an incredibly good beer. Poured a deep dark brown/black with a decent tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with malts. Flavor similar to Black and Tan with definite chocolate mocha finish. The chocolate flavor is very strong at first, but recedes, giving way to an excellent dowse of hops and great dark taste. One of the better Saranacs.

The body is the darkest amber and brown possible. A thin light tan head tops this. Aroma of coffee and high quality milk chocolate. It also has a hint of brown sugar. The taste is espresso with some hints of nuts. A rich and slightly corn syrup sweetness. A hint of vanilla. This is a decent stout.

Thanks to my friend nstallmaster I got this one. The aroma is nice and sweet with some chocolate that is mixed with some hints of sweet coffee with faint hints of spice. The appearance is pitch black but a very dark and rich reddish amber when held to the light with a very small head that turns to tan lacing and coats the glass. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and full of complex malt and well-balanced and silky. The flavor is of sweet chocolate with hints of bitter coffee with a silky, wet pallet and finish that ends up sweet and very good. The flavor is exceptional and smooth and refreshing. Overall, an excellent mocha stout and very good but not too chocolatey with an excellent silky pallet. This was great stuff.

A bit dark for my liking, but it was good and i will respect that. Solid brew, good strong flavor.

First and foremost, those folks that gave this a mouthfeel of 6 were right on the money - this has the most disappointing body of any stout I have consumed (although overall it is not a bad brew). Pours with a very dark brown to black color and thin beigish head, the nose is not much that I can recall. Flavor is that of a stout. My understanding id that mocha is a combo of coffee and chocolate (stuff that possibly I might like even better than beer - although not likely). In this brew's case it is more coffee than chocolate. Good flavor, poor mouthfeel.

Pours a dark brown to black with tan head. The aroma was a typical stout. Malty with a sweetness. There was a little more carbonation than your other stouts which gave this brew a alighter mouth feel. The flavor was rich without the bitter after taste that you get with a stout. I paired this with homemade beef vegetable soup. They complimented each other very well.

Pours a standard dark amber/black color with a solid off white head. Aroma is pretty mild, with some light, piney hop notes keeping company with sweet, chocolatey malts. Mouthfeel is just a little thin for a stout...but not watery by any means. Flavor is bittersweet, dark bitter baker's chocolate, with a slightly hoppy finish comes to mind. Has a fairly rich flavor, but seems to lack a bit of complexity in my opinion. Not bad overall, just not the best example of the style.

Most enjoyable brew. Deep amber brown color with a beautiful, but short-lived foamy head. Generous lacing marks each sip. The hints of chocolate and coffee are derived from roasted malts; no adjuncts in this beer. And the aromas and flavors are well-balanced: bittersweet baker's chocolate, dark-roasted bitter espresso coffee, and pungent, earthy hops. A subtle carbonation sets it off. Well done.

Not a bad beer from Matt Brewing. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan layer of head. Aroma is sweet roasty coffee, smoky chocolate, and mild earthy hops. Mouthfeel seems a bit thin, but not offsettingly so. Flavor starts with sweet caramel, then smoky coffee and roasted chocolate. Finish is slightly dry with some earthy hop flavor.
