Pours an almost black colour with a mocha head, good retention and some creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some nice coffee. The flavours shows more the coffee over the roasted malts with hints of chocolate. Seems watered-down, because of the low alcohol content, but overall, a nice coffee stout.

Black with quickly dissapearing light brown foam head. Aroma is coffee, coffee and coffee. Taste is coffee, little bitter. Aftertaste is long lasting coffee taste. (Velp 201303)

Bottled from Waitrose Super Market - Light bodied, slightly sweet, large bubbles. Easy drinking, lightly fruity British yeast. Some hints of chocolate at liquorice (sweet). Stale cigarettes as it got warm at the end, like the kind you smelled on your uncles cloths as a kid, but really subdued. Really liked.

bottle: pours an opaque black with 3 finger mocha colored cap that lasts and laces. Nice coffee-roasty grains aroma, some dark roast cocao...light honey sweetness, grassy hopping. Very coffee-like but not over powering,,,total lack of dark fruits is odd for the style, malts lay under the coffee tastes and have a toasted oat discernment...thin mouth feel...finish is clean and bitter. Well enough made but at the risk of being branded a heretic, do we really need another so-so coffee beer?

A new sight at LCBO stores in Ontario. This beer pours a very solid dark brown colour with almost no head. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and licorice dominate the aroma....not much in the way of hops. Flavour is more of the same, but a bit thin.

The beer pours a blackish-brown with a generous brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour is watery, roasted malt, and dark chocolate.

Cask@GBBF2007. Dark amber colour, not much head. Aroma is big coffee, roasted malts and slight vanilla. Flavour is roasted malts, big time coffee and also some hints of burnt wet wood.

What a great looking beer - I just love stouts and porters. Tight creamy head lacing down the glass. Everything is clouded by the java beans tho - it's right up front and also long finish. One for the coffee lover.

Bottle. Near black with a thick tan head. Aroma of coffee with some chocolate. Lots of coffee in the taste, quite dry and bitter. Fullish bodied, lightly carbonated. Very good.

Black as coal with a small creamy light brown head. Vague aromas of roasted coffe and coffee beans. Powerfull roasted coffee flavour od espresso, café au lait, you name it. The flavour is packed of dark strong coffee. Hints of fresh coffee beans and smoke. Creamy and intense mouthfeel. Long finish of coffee beans arabic coffee and smoke. Simple stout but very flavourfull. You got to love coffee to appriciate this one.
