Aroma is seriously coffee-like, bringing to mind a high-quality cup of joe. It pours a deep, rich, warm coffee brown that is nearly opaque and has a nice tan head. Rich coffee dominates the mouth-filling flavor as it does the aroma, and there is an undertone of unsweetened chocolate, so drinking this coffee is like more like drinking some cold quality mocha than drinking beer - and I love mocha. The smooth, lively, fizzy texture assures you that this is indeed beer, and a very good one at that. Recommended to all stout fans, especially if they love good coffee as well.

Almost a dark amber when held up to the light, wispy head. Strong coffee and roast malt scents mixed with a little chocolate. Body is quite light for a stout. Lots of coffee flavors but a nice bit of hops to go with, I like the combo. A little residual sweetness that makes this very easy to drink.

courtesy pfoxyjohn...a light-medium bodied slightly dry stout. the coffee went from subtle at 49 degrees to prominent after 10 minutes. roasted malt, bittersweet coffee. nice...almost a standout. got to revisit - all about the coffee, especially the aroma. still quite nice and still a 4 (maybe higher if i have one for breakfast!)

The few Central Waters beers I've had have been really nice, so while I did enjoy this beer, I just didn't feel like it did anything for me. The beer pours out a dark brown/black body with dark brown edges and a light, light tan 1/4" head. Aroma starts out with some coffee grounds, walnuts, light vanilla and some wet dirt. It was all really restrained though, as the volume was kept down to 4 instead of blaring at 9 or 10. Flavor had some astringent puckery character that I found a bit off putting, like putting a spoon of coffee and aspirin together. Coffee did show up, but when a brewery calls a beer a "coffee stout", in my opinion, it has to showcase coffee in the best way possible. I just didn't think this beer did that, as the coffee was too restrained for my liking. I have 4 more beers to change my opinion though.

Keeping things pretty much the same. It's not getting any better in any way, but the aroma did change somewhat. What comes out is a Tabasco-like aroma...almost bell-pepper like. It wasn't bad, and some would probably be off-put by the aroma. I just found it interesting. The coffee level was still very restrained. No way is this an top-notch stout, but drinkable. -

Remember, if she smokes, she pokes.. . aromas of hot coco, nawlins chocolate, and lots of dark roasted malts, also some light espresso .. . you wanna pick me up? .. . black as the night, with a very healthy head and nice lacing .. . medium thickness, warms the throat slightly .. not awfully complex when you microscope it but does contain some nice flavours of chocolate and roasted malt. .. i swear that nerf football was talking to me..

Sampled from bottle, thanks to pfoxyjohn. Pours opaque blackened-brown with a lasting tan head. Its aroma is strong with coffee dominate. Perfectly balanced with a nice blend of bready, chocolate and roasted malts. Coffee plays well with the flavor but doesn't steal the show like it does with the aroma. Great flavor! Full-bodied and smooth. I bet this beer will gather a strong following if it hasn't already.

Pours black with thick, lasting head. Rich malty aroma with bittersweet coffee dominating. The flavor is hearty and satisfying with coffee playing a central role, perhaps more so than any other beer I have sampled. Bitterness is balanced by sweetness. Creamy mouthfeel, full bodied and wonderful.

A beautiful deep chocolate brown body and a massive creamy brown head. Strong coffee grounds aroma. Mouthfeel is smooth and full. Rich, powerful coffee flavors with a nice bitter edge and robust roasted malt. A long, full strong brewed coffee-flavored finish.

WOW!! This beer was the nicest stout I have had in a looooong time! Incredible coffee flavors that some may think is too much, but I thought was incredible!! Pours a dark chocolate colour with a fairly large tan top. Aroma is strong of coffee, roasted malts, coffee and more coffee. Mouthfeel is creamy, heavy, and well carbonated. Taste is what you would expect but even more- lots of coffee and milk chocolate. The only beer I had all day but it blew me away. Can't wait to have this again.
