Brewed in the Bavarian tradition. Our Helles is decoction mashed with select German malts to produce a malty brew. Our selecion of German Noble Hops and our authentic Bavarian Yeast combine to balance the maltiness and end in a dry refreshing beer.

12 beers of Summer Saranac 12-pack -
Aroma - Wet bran cereal aroma, some definite hay notes, and light bread dough.
Appearance - straw yellow body, clear with a nice sized 2" bright white fully head. Visible carbonation floating up from bottom.
Taste - refreshingly simple, light herbal note with some light sweetness to match. Bread reappears in the flavor too.
Palate - light bodied, soft, not too harsh...thin but to be expected.
Overall - a really nice, quenching summer beer. A nice start to the Summer 12-pack. -

Sampled on 5/17/2010. This helles pours a medium gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention. The aroma is cereal and grainy, slightly sweet. A light to medium bodied helles. The malts are cereal and grainy, slightly sweet. The hops are herbal and slightly spicy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Crisp and clean. A nice summer beer, it is light and refreshing with a touch of spiciness and a hint of residual sweetness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Not bad light color aroma and bodyLightly malted with mild hoppiness coming through. Quite drinkable. This reminded me of regular Utica Club In a positive way.
