poured a clear honey yellow color with a small white head that disappeared quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma has hints of apples, apricots, light malts, grassy hops and tones of wheat as well. The taste has a decent amount of hops up front but rather malty and has a touch of apple cider. The mouthfeel is light bodied, medium carbonation.

Presentation: It was poured from a 12oz bottle into pilsener glass. Appearance: It has a bright golden yellow color with great clarity and a thin white head that hangs on and just covers the body. Some lace is left behind on the glass. Smell: The aroma is sweet, almost fruity and floral hops are present. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has a light malt presence with a lovely crisp hop flavor that adds nice floral and citrus notes. Bitterness is mild and not overpowering. The body is light with a good active carbonation and a refreshingly quick clean finish. Notes: Kudos to Saranac for going with brown bottles for there pilsener instead of the more common green bottles. I never understood why a beer style that is so sensitive to light and freshness would be put into green bottles that allow more light to filter through it.

Middle of the road beer here, it's enjoyable and relatively simple. Real faint aroma of pale malt and a tinge of hops, too hard to detect. Standard golden pour with thick lacing that covers the glass along with a thin head. Light to medium bodied, Saranac generally provides a nice malty body in their beers and this stays true to that. Fleeting flavor the leads to a pleasant aftertaste, soft on the palate. Good balance in the taste, the mild malt is coupled well with a quick sharp hop bitterness. Overall it's unassuming and safe, needs a more robust flavor to help it excel.

This is an extremely boring brew. I am a big fan of Saranac for the most part, but there is nothing to this beer. Bottom line, it was a part of the sampler and it made it down the hatch. You won't find much to day about this one.

Bottle: bottling date code indicates this is fresh ( botttled in the last 2 weeks) Poured a gracious shimmering gold into my pilsner flute: large puffy 2 finger cap that lasts and laces well. Moderate carbonation. Great lager smells in the aroma: fresh rising bread dough with apple cidery undertones from some dry hopping...very bready and fresh. Solid malt spine with a decent dollup of malted wheat, medium bodied, silky mouth feel, rounded smooth character... A nice chew of fresh bready malts up front, this is quickly balanced by a swirl of citrusy-herbal hops (Cascade & Tettnang ) which give a malty-apple cidery decernment, finishes clean and lightly drying from some help from the wheat and dry hopped cascades with the non-cloying cider flavors still riding along.... then a solid biscuit after taste. A quenching yet substantial lager with an interesting mix of malts and hops ( Wheat and cascade with carapils and tettnang) that simply works well in the flavor compliment. This brewer is gaining my respect as I have not had a beer from them I did not like and the quality is certainly apparent in the ingredients and process.

I wonder why they call this brew an American wheat when the bottle says it is a pilsener?? Anyway, this will be my first brew from Saranac's Summer Sampler. The aroma is a bit sweet with some slight maltiness with some faint aromas of hops and is not bad. The appearance is a golden yellow in color when held to the light with a decent sized head on top that has good retention and only diminishes some leaving nice lacing on the glass that is white in color. The mouthfeel is very light-bodied and watery with some decent complexity but is lacking a bit with a palate that is thin and watery. The flavor is malty and sweet with some grainy taste to it with even some flakey corn in the aftertaste and a finish that is watery but thirst-quenching. Overall, definitely a Summer brew here and is bland and pretty watery but good for the season I suppose.

This was an ok beer for a hot summer evening. The pale yellow was fair enough. Not much of a detectable aroma. The taste was fair and thirst quenching but overall there wasn't much here to make me try it again.

Medium gold color with a short fizzy head, no lacing and very little carbonation. Aroma was decent, with a citrusy hoppiness. Light bodied, mild, pleasant hoppy flavor but the malt seemed weak, almost nonexistent. An odd duck here-

ah yes, yet another beer from the summer sampler. Nothing too special here, just a bland yellow color with a sweet ricey aroma. Body had some decent corn qualities, like sweet cornbread. not bad.
