Samuel Adams Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending togther four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble Hops. Samuel Adams Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

I tried this beer on October 1, 2010 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a clear copper colour with a thin white head. The aroma was sweet caramel malt, citrusy hops, and light fruits. The mouhtfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt, citrusy hops, with a bitter finish.

Bottle @ LCRBM 08: Poured a orange copper color with a white head. The aroma is sweet malts. Taste is sweet with toffee and malts, finish still has a bitterness to it that makes it balanced Maezen.

On Tap. Clear light amber color with icy/slushy off white foam. Places in FL serve their draft beer way too cold. I guess they’d prefer you didn’t taste it. Somehow I gotta remember that little fact or stick with water. No aroma even after it warm a bit above 32F. The taste had a caramel maltiness to it as well as the standard sweet lager maltiness for the style. I didn’t taste any hops. Too cold maybe. Probably won’t have it again especially if it’s on tap.

On draft in a $4, 24 oz mug at smokey bones in robinson twp. Has a hue of a darker pale ale rather than a dark beer. Although it was not too bitter, there was a sense of some hops. Come off initially as just a tad watery. No lasting finish. No memorable aroma.

Had a couple of these last October in the Scottsdale area (can't recall exactly where). Clear copper pour, white head. Spicy nose, with pumpkin, maybe. Medium bodied, trending to the thin side. Too sweet, need to back off on the caramel. Not even a suggestion of bitterness. Just average. Funny thing in that the seriously young server said "it was so good". As if he'd know. Probably too young to drink.

decent amber/coperish color off white head not a lot of lacing as head dissappated quickly. fair malt smell . good dry maltiness that sticks to mouth and tongue.

Pours out a dark clear gold color with a thick tan head that vanishes pretty quick. The aroma is faint mostly of malt and spice. The mouthfeel is solid but not thick. The taste is clean and I like it but it's not real special.

Tried this on a recent shopping trip to Pennsylvania. Nice amber colour, and highly drinkable beer. Price was right, too. Definitely a session beer, but enjoyed nonetheless.

Copper golden color with white foam head lacing to glass. Aroma is roasted malt. Taste is bittersweet with caramel tones, but not too much sweet. Shorter bittersweet aftertaste. (Cleveland 201210)

Tasty !! I like this one. To bad it is a sesonal. I like some of SA beer-I think they make way to many. Like 6 excellent for a solid baseline. Anyway, rich copper color, a little bicuit, caramel, some grain but OK A good down to earth Festbier.
