This was real hard to rate considering it had the taste and smell of breakfast foods. I got a strong aroma of the bacon right away and a hint of the maple syrup. The taste was mostly of the smokey bacon with just a small amout of maple on the back end. The bottle I opened had a small amount sediment left in it that looked like it might have come from bacon. All in all it was very good and could see trying this again.

Pours a very large amount of frothy off-white head. Has a dark amber/coppery appearance. Excessive carbonation. Has a fairly strong smokey aroma with nice subtle hints of the bacon and maple coming through. Notes of toffee and sweets also. Flavours are pretty much what to expect. Mostly mild bacon and maple notes and also a bit of toffee (like aroma) and some caramel, nuts and mild spices as well. Medium bodied with a pretty smooth, slick and creamy mouthfeel. Somewhat bitter in the finish. Pretty good and mixing up bacon and maple makes it like we're having some pretty tasty breakfast! :p

Wanting to try this for a while, and finally got some more at the LCBO. Pours a cloudy deep amber colour with a big frothy off-white head that lasts a long time and has foamy lacing. Great nose of the smokey bacon with the sweetness (maple) of the donuts. Thankfully, the sweetness is quite mild in the mouth. A little fruity, but with the smoke taking over into the aftertaste. Not tasting the maple so much either, which would balance the smokiness a little better. Still, a real interesting smoke brew that has a daring name.

Big maple aroma on opening. Pours a nice amber color with a shortish head. Was very interested in the bacon and frankly didn't get a strong sense of it in the nose or aroma - much more of the maple. Flavor was maple-sweet with some hop and a smokey, medicinal note that was not unpleasant - just a bit unexpected. Smokiness was muted - not anything like a rauch. Overall this beer worked for me - though I wish it had a bit more of the bacon flavoring.

Dull amber pour with a small tan head. Bacon, campfire and maple notes in the aroma. All is well so far. Too bad it tastes like I dunked a stick in a jar of maple syrup, stuck it in a campfire then went to lick that stick the next morning. Just awful tasting. So glad I didn't have to buy the bottle; my 2 oz taster was even too much to handle.

Strong aroma has notes of maple syrup and smoke - yes, a hint of bacon in there. A bit on the sweet side. Pours a beautiful clear copper with a fairly thick pale golden head that does not stick around too long. Flavor is - distinctive, to put it nicely. It's like drinking liquid barbecue smoke with a side of pancakes. I get some malt and hop flavors, but not much. Texture is rather wan, some fizz but more like soda pop than beer. Nice try, but this brew is rather like the proverbial meatball sundae.

750 ml bottle. Pours reddish amber with a small off-white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is a bit strange - soapy sugary smoked malts and maple. It smells a bit chemically and leathery.
The flavor is sweet sugary malts (molasses and maple) with a big smokiness (liquid smoke and BBQ). The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, very strange. The sweet sugar doesn't blend well with the smoke. Interesting to try though. -

Wish List bomber from Stoutlover - clear red amber pour, slight and tight white head, some lacing. Maple, brown sugar aroma with very slight smoke, some bacon but not nearly enough, bread - almost like sugar cookie dough, mostly maple. Nice flavor, a tad sweet, some maple, very little smoke, some bacon but again not enough (is there ever enough bacon?), brown sugar, malts, Hops? well, not much, but enough for this not to be syrup. HUGE thanks to Garrett for this very cool brew. Cool bottle, interesting beer. Would drink it again.

The beer poured a translucent amber colour with a tan coloured head that lasts. The maple can be smelled across the room from the glass while a direct whiff reveals bread and smoked wood. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was dominated by the smokiness with maple and malt in the mix. Far from outstanding. -

Opening the bottle to block party's "flux". Smells like a bacon maple donut! Really actually impressive. Poured light copper. Good head. Smell is quite smoky. Some maple and also spruce bow and sap. Smells bittersweet. Light bodied. Maple is there but quite subtle. Smoke and "bacon" is much more prevalent. It's fallibility is in its simplicity
