A big thanks to my neighbor, Joey, for sharing with me. This beer was AWESOME. A giant pilsner that is clean and crisp with a unique flavor. The beerhad a touch of spice to it and is well hopped. A great beer, would love to have again.

On tap @the Bent Elbow – puts a hazed light gold beer in the glass small cap is tenacious and lasts. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is unique with earthy tones mixing with big bready malts and some (almost) Belgian yeast-like funk, floral hopping. Rich luxurious mouth feel. Verging on heavy bodied but still light enough to have a few. Flavour is dominated by a malty-earthy tone…. near the finish you get herbal sharp hopping. Sturdy, satisfying very earthy-musty - one of the most unique beers I have ever tasted

Gift from my brother-in-law. Golden straw pour, tight white head, delicate lacing throughout. Amply hopped aroma, earthy and grassy, beautiful malt nose, almost Belgian-like yeast aromas. Love the taste: beautifully malty, lightly sweetened, grassy and Bavarian hops with a decent bitter and linger. Excellent beer, should have drank it earlier! Great bottle. Thank you Morimoto.

Just realised I forgot to transfer this one over from the awesome Jasper beer weekend. I tasted this beer a day after it had been opened, though the flip top had been replaced, so it was like drinking a beer from a growler. The mouthfeel was nice, simple and malty. Super dry and crisp yet back a bit of hoppy aroma to make it nice a flavourful, rather than light and boring like many not impy pils. Never had another impy pil so I don't know what to compare it to, but it was good. That was alot of words that say nothing....

From FIrefly, purchased April 2009. Beautiful bottle - easily the pride of my collection. My first Imperial Pilsner. Poured a clear, dark gold beneath a rocky ivroy head; good lacing found here. Aroma was hoppy like an IPA, with some perfumed undertones. Tasted like an IPA, almost, with a generous hopping complemented with malt. Rich mouth and nice finish.

As an Imperial it was disapionting. Poured with a staw yellow color with a thick white head. Nose was an off apple, and lemon. Taste was that of lemon with hops. Not the best Imperial Pilsner that I have had.

It pours a rather typical clear straw-yellow, but gets a point for having a rather thick, fluffy white head. Aroma is strong and malty with a firm fruity overtone, mainly apple and lemon. Flavor is a bit bland and has an unpleasing metallic taste to it, but is still palatable. Texture is edgy and just a little tingly, nothing to write home about. This is the only Rogue beer I have ever tried that disappointed, but I will finish this bottle.

It's hard to rate this beer a 9 or 10 overall, based on pilsners not having much aroma and appearance. With that said, this is probably a very high 8....say an 8.8. One of the most crisp beers that I've had. Seems pretty light, but has a nice alcohol content and will fill you up. You can really taste the malt in this one. Has a pale yellow appearance, with a very light white head. I try not to spend this kind of money too often for high priced beers, but this is worth the price....well, almost. A luxury beer for sure.

August 26th 6:30pm 2008.. Quite a smooth brew, no abv detected... well made... pours a darker golden color .. . good foam .. . refreshing and upfront, an upgraded pils but not going into that malt liquor or ipa spectrum.. a smelly brown god?!?! what the hell?? .. at $17, its good but..i seemed to enjoy this more than the scores reflect...

maltier than expected, but still heavy on the hops and bitterness. Not worth the price ($12) as Sam Adams IP is better. This one didn't taste fresh. OK.
