Tasting Notes: Beer begins in the dirt. In a bold collaboration with Mother Nature, we grow 7 varieties of aroma hops at Rogue Farms in Independence, OR. We also string, stake, train, test, trim, separate, sort, kiln and cool them. Brewmaster John Maier had 7 varieties available, but rather than picking from among them, he chose all 7 to create a proprietary palate for 7 Hop IPA. 13 Ingredients: Rogue Farms Dare, Risk, Maier & Dare R-3 Malts; Rogue Farms Liberty™, Newport™, Revolution™, Rebel™, Independent™, Freedom™ & Alluvial™ Hops; Pacman Yeast & Free Range Coastal Water

June 2014: Shared 650 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 8.02%. Hazy deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity American hops, some spicy notes too, a hint of dill. Distinctly hoppy flavour, bitter finish, very bitter aftertaste

Slightly unfiltered with tiny bubble carbonation. Golden-amber colour with a big creamy-frothy warm cap, great retention and lacing. Becomes hazier every pour. The mouthfeel gets dry throughout the experience. The taste of the hops is well-blended together with notes of grass, citrus zest with some nice oranges lingering over the caramel malts. The aromas started on the grapefruit-piney side and then, the caramel malt take over with time. A nice IPA with 7 different hops that are nicely balanced together and with the alcohol calming things a little.

Dark amber pour. Head dissipates after a while but does leave nice lacing. Pine and floral aroma. Wouldn't think this was 90 ibu's. Flavour of caramel malt, pine, grapefruit and orange. It's also a little floral and herbal. Well carbonated with a medium mouthfeel. Quite interesting.

Opaque orange, lacing foam. Grapefruit, melon, pineapple and oily hops in the aroma. Oily earthy hopbitter flavor with lots of citrus, peppermint and hints of white pepper. Overwhelming bitter taste, lasting long. (Houston 201408)

Bomber from Central City. Poured a clear copper with a smallish white head, minimally laced. Aroma of hop and pine, plus some grapefruit. Nice flavour, echoing all the traits of the aroma. Above average mouth, and bitter finish. Not really a DIPA in my books, but nice enough.

This is a solid clean IPA. Not super strong on the hops/IBU, but more of the sweeter kind. I'd say closer to a Northwest IPA vs. the citrus of the West Coast and tropical IPAs down south. Worth the try....kind of pricey though.

Pours a nice clear golden amber with an eggshell head. Aroma has hops to spare plus a strong citrus underpinning. Flavor is SERIOUSLY hoppy, practically follows you around the joint, mostly resiny with a little woodiness and minimal bitterness, just a snip of malt. Texture is quite lively and firm. Hop hop hop to the nearest bar that has it on tap!

Murky orange in color with a moderate off white head rising above. There's decent hang time on the head. It settles into impressive lacing of a ringlet and film. Deep citric hopped nose. Malt sweetness comes forward on the tasting. Bitter citric presence follows in presence. Light -medium bodied.

The beer is a slightly hazed, ruby-highlighted copper coloring with a foamy, off-white head that sits about an inch on the surface. Aromas of pepper spices, grassy backbone characteristics and a sweet, rich overlay of grapefruit and orange, bold but not overpowering. Flavors are grapefruit forward, sweet and slightly tart, with a toasted and biscuit backbone. Highlights of lemon, pine, and subtle resinous notes. Very smooth and light in mouth. The aftertaste is more bitter, with the resinous notes becoming a little more upfront, but the citrus still holding strong. Bitter, slightly dry finish. A very balanced, and solid brew

Massive sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Pours a orange amber with a 2 finger off white head that takes it damn time. Aroma is very floral with hints of fruits, dry hops, and overall sweetness. Massive big bubble carbonation. Taste is massive with hints of tropical fruits, dry and sweet hops, and flowers. Body is thick and the bitterness will make you pucker. Finishes off with a dry throat with a slimy backing. Pretty impressive.
