Mudslinger is a Nut Brown Ale with a Medium body and a fresh aroma. Its malty flavor is layered with light chocolate, caramel, brown sugar and a hint of vanilla. Six barley malts and two hop varieties result in a surprisingly smooth, well balanced dark beer. Mudslinger pairs nicely with grilled meats, stews, fowl, and even smoked oysters or salmon. Available on the West Coast from January through April. Comes out of the tap a nice clear mahogany with a thick, if not persistent, light tan head. Malty aroma has caramel and woody hints. Roast malt flavor has nutty, caramel and subtle hoppy tones in attendance. Firm body is fairly tingly and lively. A good way to welcome spring.

Nice deep brown body with a decent frothy cap that leaves sonme spotted although decent lace. not much in aroma or flavor department some malts and nuttinesss, very faint, almost non-existant. Flavorless and unexciting.

I used to love the RedHook brew that was a coffee stout brewed with Starbucks coffee. This brew disppeared from the market and I tried a ESB from RH and it was horrible. The other day friends called to hit the beach in Maui. SHoots, but what to drink. I saw the description for this brew. I jumpoed on it. It was a great nutty ale. Little on the darker side, great aroma, easy in the mouth and great tasting with a nice crunch to it. I was very impressed and would do it again. I went through that 12 pack like nothing. WOW Right on Redhook.

On tap @ Archer's Tavern in Centerville, OH. Dark tea brown pour with a medium head and some lacing. Slightly stale and somewhat weak aromas of nuts and malts. Taste is the same, a tad thin and weak, slightly sweet and malty, also nutty, little hops bitter.

Water with some caramel malt and light hops...pretty much sums it up. Average all around. Flavor is ok, has potential to be a 7, but is just lacking and thin. Not a bad spring/summer brew, just that nothing stands out here and way better lighter brown ales out there. One more review added, but besides that this is eh.

A mogany colored beer. A medium sized, frothy textured, off white head rises above. Some hang time. Left behind is a low rising film aside the glass and a thin soapy ringlet. The nose is light, of sweet malt and nuts. The tasting is bolder with the malt more caramel. There is a smoothness in a light-medium bodied beer. Not bad at all.

Been a while since I last had one of Red Hooks' brews. This one has a fairly bitter taste to it with hints of walnuts. Average mouthfeel. Average aroma. Uninteresting and boring. Average but not by much. Not at all good.
