Comes out of the tap a rich opaque sable with a decent tan head. Aroma is rich and smoky with a chocolate undertone and a hint of coffee. Flavor is thick and mouth-filling, smoky, chocolaty and coffee-ish, with a whisper of sweetness. Texture is smooth and lively, and aftertaste is delicious and like any good stout.

Not sure who sent this to me (maybe Immy), so I'm not exactly sure but thank you!! Very nice beer. I'm also not clear as to the bottling date of this beer. Doesn't matter at this point, since all the '04 and beyond go here anyways.
The beer pours out a thick black hue with a resulting three finger thick, creamy tan head. The aroma is coffe, prunes, all-spice and smoke that gently faded into a very nice chocolate profile. Flavors are definitely drinker-friendly with clear coffee and chocolate notes and suprisingly a touch earthy/woody. The flavor reminded me slightly of eating a high quality chocolate candy. A really nice beer. -

Bottle from aracauna. Pours a ruby-brown color, fairly weak initial head disappaering to near nothing, not providing much lacing either. The aroma was nice bitter chocolate and roast. The flavor followed suit, more of a cocoa-choco type flavor, gently bitter roast, dry, slightly coffee-like acidic finish. Mouthfeel was excellent, nice body, thinned by the oatmeal, nothing sticky or sweet in this beer, yet nice drinking. Good stuff, Jacob, thanks.

Bottle. Poured a blackish-brown color with a medium light-brown head. Nice lacing. Strong aroma of coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is good. Flavor was very chocolatey, with a coffee kick to the finish. I liked this beer, but it didn't set itself apart from other imperial porters.

Poured with a thick marshmellow-like tan head that dissipated to a spotted film over the top. It left a fair amount of lacing to the glass as well. Aroma was of roasted malt with hints of chocolate. Almost black in color but with some burgandy tones to it when held up to the light. A very full bodied mouthfeel to it with a lot of chocolatey flavor with touches of coffee. Reminded me of an oatmeal stout as well as a porter. A very good mix in my opinion!

I have not had a ABC product that was new in a very long time and a taster for ABC was nice enough to give me a bottle of this one and I do look forward to it given the syle plus it is beginning to be cooler days as well and time for heavier brews to drink. The aroma is roasty and of burnt malt with some dark chocolate coming through as well as even some dry-hopped overtones as well as coffee. The appearance is pretty good and is a deep and dark coal-black but a rich burgundy to mahogany in color when held to the light with a small head on top and I was expected something more frothy and it diminishes quickly to a light and bubbly lacing that is a light-tan to off-white in color but does leave a light coating on the glass. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and very robust with awesome complexity of roasted malts with great balance as well with a palate that is almost silky smooth and coats very nicely and is almost chewy and sticky. The flavor is of morning coffee and chocolate bars and is robustly malty with an aftertaste that presents some nice dry-hopping with a finish that is smooth, crisp, and damn tasty with some dryness on the back end with no alcohol presence whatsoever. Overall, probably the best product from ABC I have had and I liken this brew to Sweetwater's Happy Ending and Terrapin's Imperial Porter and I hope to get some more of this brew soon if I can find it; great beer here...

The best ABC beer I’ve had yet. Most impressive for them. This was a nice dark chocolate color. The aroma was malty, chocolate, oatmeal-y. The flavors were oatmeal, slight smoke, and nice roasted chocolate. Excellent malts and nice clean finish. A little to acidic but mostly smooth.

This Porter pours a deep black color from a 12oz bottle. A large sized creamy beige colored head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, some dark fruits and a little bit of roasted malts. A medium bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and coffee, but there are a lot of fruit flavors, mainly cherries as well. Kind of weird tasting, but it also kind of works, if you think of this beer as a winter ale and not strictly a porter. Hops are earthy and slightly citrusy. Smooth tasting, touch creamy in the mouthfeel. Nice soft carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Now this one should change anyone’s mind about Atlanta Brewing and make them willing to give the brewery another chance. Dark brown body with a khaki head. Rich mocha aroma. Full maltiness in the flavor and this is very chocolatey. I really like this beer, although it falls into that gray area between robust porter and sweet stout. Still extremely yummy.
