R&B owners Rick and Barry invite you to try our award-winning Raven Cream Ale. Like all of our beers,it is handcrafted in small batches at our microbrewery located in the historic Brewery Creek district of Vancouver. Raven Cream's refreshing nature belies its dark hue and subtle roasty finish. This is the result of West Coast hops, specialty malts, and the attention that a truly premium brew requires. We are proud that local artist Fire-Man painted his vision of the Raven for our label. We hope you enjoy this superior, mystical brew.

Pours a nice size frothy beige head that dissipates to a thin coating and has a dark amber appearance. Weak lacing. Aromas of raisins, malts. Flavours are resin and spice hops, raisins, plums, dark fruits. Somewhat of an odd aftertaste. Seems a little sour.

Part of the BC Craft Brewers Guild Natural Selections 6 pack (2014). Pours a hazy copper colour with red highlights. The head is creamy, beige, lasts long and lacing is creamy, thick as well. Aromas of nutty malts, raisins, caramel, dates, spicy yeast and sugars. The taste is much milder, watered-down. Very light roasted malts with some sourness in the middle (light infection ?). Not sure about hitting the style. Seems more like a fruity rousse. Or even a session light porter.

I have trouble seeing this as a cream ale, thoguh I am 8 beers in and judgement is quite clouded at this point. It is carmelly, malty, thick, touch yeasty and true, a bit creamy. I would draw more parallels to a belgian dubbel than a Boddingtons style cream ale though. This is significantly heavier, with a spicyness not usually exhibited by other cream ales. That is the extent of which my palate currently functions. Will need a re-review.

Body looks brownish red not really like rust but close complete with a thin tan cap. Nice smooth aroma mainly made of coffee, toffee, and fruit leather, I like it! More fruit leather in the taste, apple and plum to be more exact. Smooth and malty with mild smoke showing up in the finish. Taste and the feel is very creamy. Lots of caramel appears in the taste when warm. I like this beer I could easily drink this again.

Crap beer, worst of the tap selection at Steam Works... at least it isn’t their own beer. This shouldn’t even be on tap imo. Light brown brew with red hues with a light tan head that has some retention. Dark fruit, alcohol smell... this is really off. Taste is medicinal somehow, weak pine, unwelcome alcohol, light spice, caramel, something here doesn’t fit at all. This cannot be blamed on a bad bottle - it’s on tap!

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a huge bubbly slightly off-white head with average retention. Aroma of sweet caramel malt is dominating. Taste is also quite sweet with a nice caramel presence and very subtle hops. Body is not full and this beer makes a nice session beer with more complexity then your average British ale.

Pours with a red/brown colour and a large bubbly head, which falls off quite quickly. Aroma is malty as is the taste, although it seems somwwhat thin and watery. Not the finest cream ale I've had.
