This porter pours a deep cola that lets in just a bit of light, creating a ruby hue. The head is a long lived mocha froth that leaves some pretty lace. A predominantly roasty nose has coffee beans, dark chocolate, vanilla extract, wood smoke. The flavour profile is all about the bitter roast with lots of black coffee meets dark chocolate and pit fruit. The hops really come at you and create a dry, mouth feel that screams porter. Quite enjoyable. Nice lengthy bitter roasty finish. 6.8 % alcohol by volume, IBU’s 29.6 Food Pairings: Brownies, Honey glazed duck, goose, goulash, panna cotta, pumpkin pie, tiramisu and vension

Fresh bottle from Brewery: Pours a deep cola brown with ruby highlights and a frothy tan cap that lasts and laces. Lots of roasty cocoa-coffee in the nose as well as grassy kent hopping. rounded mouth feel, mellow, plenty of dark cocoa-mocha tones, dark fruity esters and just enough hop bite to keep the sweetness in tow. A robust London style porter. Good effort.
