Pop top cap. Really strange. Huge foamy head, Tons of carbonation. Dark black body. Not a huge aroma, but present. Somewhat like black licorice and anise. Light roasty flavor. Probably my imagination but I suppose I’m tasting a bit of the oyster too. Body more like a black lager than a stout. Interesting to try, but not on my must have list.

330ml bottle from Brewforia. How cool is a pull tab cap on a bottle? I say it is very cool.........
Appearance: Pours dark mahogany with a medium sized beige head and some lacing in the glass
Aroma: Dark malts and fruits and definitely oysters
Taste: Toasted malts, coffee, oysters, salty and some bitterness in the finish
Wow, this is great. I’ve had a few Oyster Stouts and this one is definitely the best one I’ve had,

Draft (4,8%) at The Porterhouse in Dublin. Very dark brown, almost black, with a nice creamy beige head. Mild aroma of roaste malt with some hops and a hint of fruit and oysters. Sweet and bready with a nicely balanced bitterness. Quite mild and easy tro drink. Tasty! This was one of my favourites the last time I visited the Porterhouse (2007), but this time I was a bit disappointed. It’s still a nice beer, but we tasted it with the Plain Porter and Wrasslers XXXX Stout and I found the Oyster stout to be the weakest link. (2011-06-11)

Bottle: Poured a black color oil with a fluffy off white/tan head. Aroma is salty and malty. Taste is rich roasted malt with a salty finish.

Rated July 2010. Courtesy of Blazer06. Bottle with very odd (to me) pull tab bottle cap. It pours mahogany with off white head. The aroma is roasty, out of place dark fruitiness, brown sugar, spices and chocolate malts. It smells a bit disjointed. The taste is prickly with carbonation and thin in body creating notes of roasted malts, some spicy yeast, some mild cherry meat, more spices, chocolate malts and a thin layer of earthiness. Interesting.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Pleasant aroma of hops and moderately roasted malts, hints of seaside (the oysters? - or is it just my imagination?). Silky smooth and very pleasant flavour, mild roasty notes, well balanced hops. Truly enjoyable, impossible to dislike.

330 ml capped bottle, as a 5.2 % ABV. Poured in a stemmed half-pint glass a clear and dark brown-red coloured O A with a one finger tan and soapy foamy head that had a mid-sized retention and tons of micro bubbles. Low carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, burnt coffee beans and spicy with notes of vanilla and licorice. The flavour is roasted malts, roasted coffee malts, dark chocolate, light viscous and ashes. The mouthfeel is light crispy, sparkling and quite smooth. The texture is watery. This medium bodied O A has a dry roasted malts finish. The added oysters are not easily ( if it is possible ! )identifiable, may be in or with the viscous feeling. Overall a pleasant Irish Stout.

This appears to be one of the most widely available beers from this brewery. Black pour, short head, some lacing. Found it quite quite, quite heavy on the mouth. Very malty with some chocolate, found it very heavy. Mollasses and sourdough and rye bread a bit. Good brewery, good beer, pricey.

Acquired at a restaurant for the first-ever meeting of the Alexandria Brew Crew with Foam Dome, mwiscount, and Frodo_Baggins. Ruby black with a dense cap. Sweet, tart, and surprisingly spicy aroma with a little orange to it. Flavors, in order: tart, briney, smoky, sweet, faint trace of spice. Unsticky, not heavy, good carbonation. I didn't know what to expect in this style, but I enjoyed this.

Pours a transparent black with a small head that disappears quickly. Aroma is rich with hints of chocolate and coffee. Slight carbonation. Tastes is heavy of metal, very overwhelming but not undrinkable. When you cant taste the metal the lingering taste is what you would expect from a skunky beer in a green bottle but this one was in a black one. Never having oysters before I could not tell you if you can notice them in the beer or not. This beer is not my idea drink.
