Found this in an IGA in Lincoln City ,Oregon Coast. Bottled on 03/13/06. Very good looking porter mahogany brown with a nice sized tan head..that goes fast and leaves attractive lace. Aroma is all about roasty/toasty malts but its not strong. A very strident taste very bitter-sweet malty, roasted almost burnt a significant hop presence also. Ok on the palate but i felt it was a triffle over-carbonated..nice lingering after taste. Overall a pretty nice porter, maybe a little highly hopped but OK.

2nd Sample of my New England run. A solid porter. Not top of the line, but decent and very well balanced. Nice roasty malty flavor with a good hop finish. I would get this again, but don't think I've seen it where I live.

Pours out in a dark brown colour with a low fluffy off-white head. Roasted almost burnt aroma of nut-shells, dark chocolate and coffee. Medium-bodied with notes of toasted malts, licorice, nut-shells, mild peat and old coffee. Medium-bitter edgy finish of grass, old coffee and dark chocolate.

Pours a dark opaque chocolaty brown with a fairly thick pale tan head. Aroma is oily, smoky and yeasty, what I expect from a porter. Flavor is smoky with a firm undertone of chocolate and hints of toffee and coffee. Texture is smooth and fizzy, just a bit on the thin side but still pleasing.

damn easy to drink... has a nice headring... dark black, like a charcoal chunk like a nerf football in the hall closet .. simple ... no real roast qualities .. i could drink a sixer of this in 30 minutes then eat a whole italian cheese bread by myself, smoke a bowl, the pass out ... "peter, who peter?"

Poured black with a dark Khaki head. The aroma was of coffee with hints of nut. Decent mouth feel but lacking a bit of porter richness. The flavor was of coffee with lots of roasted malt. This is a good porter . It goes particularly well with cheddar cheese.

Came in a "Winter Brews" gift box from World Market which I received as a Christmas gift. Pours a nice brown color with little to no head. Smells like old coffee. Tastes pretty much the same. Not much flavor. Thin and bitter. Disappointing. Only positive is that it was free. Too many good porters out there. Probably won't revisit.

great balanced beer...not sure why this one is so low. it's pretty stinkin good. definitely above average, but i guess there's a lot of competition in this catergory.

A slightly above average porter, stovepipe poured a very deep amber almost black body, plenty of carbontion but not much head or lace. Mouthfeel was a little thin and slightly bitter. Aroma and taste were standard with hints of toasted malts, some chocolate and coffee. O.k. but not great.

I haven't had this beer since college, and I wasn't as into craft brews as I am now. The bottle pour is amber black with a thin tan had that caps nicely. Aroma is standard porter, roasty malts and coffee. Taste is nice, a lot better than I expected because I don't really like other Otter Creek offerings. Very nice roasted chocolate flavors up front, complimented nicely with a quick hop punch at the end. The hoppy finish make up for how thin the beer is. I would sample again, this is great on a cold night.

This porter pours a deep black coffee colour with a large tan head. Aroma is nutty, and strong black coffee. Mouthfeel is creamy and sweet and flavors are of roasted malts and chocolate.
